Cal Spring Football Notebook: April 13th (Cal Day)

Getting towards the last dash

On a gloomy Saturday morning and afternoon, the California Golden Bears took centerstage for their first scrimmage as they head into the stretch run of spring ball. Fernando Mendoza and Chandler Rogers continue to go head to head for the starting quarterback position while some of the younger players have started to make a name for themselves.

Early Action

Today was all about the 11 on 11 scrimmage portions of practice. Offensive groups were fairly cold to start, with Mendoza and Rogers groups taking time to literally warm up in a freezing California Memorial Stadium. As teams got more reps, it was the running back room that announced their arrival and then some.
