If I was Musgrave I would dial up a variant of a "jailbreak" middle screen and call it an "outbreak". Run it out of I-formation (or "me" formation), make it look like an Isolation (Iso) run, but fake it, then the blockers crowd together around the RB and act confused about the play call, then disperse when the ball is thrown leaving the receiver out in open space
Looking forward to Wilcox's presser tomorrow. Perhaps he will provide some transparency on who is available, who is practicing NOW, who will join practice LATER in the week. Also, some players were out presumably not COVID related e.g. Craig, what is his status for the game or is he out for the year? Beat writers will hopefully come prepared w/ questions.
It's not clear who can practice this week. Even if they can play on Saturday, if they can't practice that's a problem. I sure as heck hope we crush the Cardinal again this year.
If he's healthy and anywhere near functional, the line should be around pick 'em. If he's out again, we should be favored by at least 10. Furd is atrocious when he's out.
Has that been confirmed? During the last game announcers claimed he was walking around and seemed fine?!? Either way, I'd rather 'furd was at full strength when we beat them so, hopefully he will play.
Michael Wilson returned a few weeks ago, and Elijah Higgins is listed as day-to-day. Tanner McKee doesn't have a broken tibia, but he hasn't suited up for a few weeks now. It doesn't matter what receivers Stanford has back if they don't have the quarterback capable of throwing to them.
One game at a time. This is the Big Game. Go Cal Bears Football Team, beat Stanford! And beat the spread too.
"Beat the spread."
Keys to the game:
Bear receivers need to maintain at least 6 feet of separation.
Bear backs need to keep defenders at least a stiff arm's length away.
Keep Garbers clean.
Bear defenders need to mask coverage and blitz schemes.
well done
Nice.
Too bad the refs will flag us if we ever try to use a facemask.

Anyone know if McKee is back for this game?
he's listed as probable. Ari Patu is out.

Shaw hinted he would be ready but his remark seemed cagey at best.
Believe he has a broken tibia so I doubt it.

Hopefully we can neutralize the tight end who has emerged as their most consistent weapon.
They are expected to have their WR's back to full health as well.
