The Cal v. Stanford college football betting odds opened at California -4.5 on Sunday, Nov. 12, according to Vegas Insider, which collects and analyzes the betting lines and odds of different U.S. sportsbooks. The Cal v. Stanford line opened at California -7 this past Sunday at the Circa Sports sportsbook in Las Vegas.
As of Friday afternoon, the latest college football betting odds for California v. Stanford range between California -7 and California -6.5, per Vegas Insider.
The California -7 line implies the California Golden Bears are seven-point favorites against the Stanford Cardinal.
U.S. sportsbooks currently offer “over-or-under” total score bets between 55 and 55.5 points as of Friday afternoon, according to Vegas Insider.
An “over” bet a total of 55.5 points wins if the combined score of California v. Stanford is 56 points or more, while an ”under” bet pays off if the game’s total score is 55 points or fewer.
The California -7 spread and the 55.5-point total imply a California victory with a scoreline of about 31-24.
Sports fans can also place “moneyline” bets, which pay out on wagers regardless of the winning team’s margin of victory. According to Vegas Insider, Cal v. Stanford moneyline bets are offered between California -280 and California -250 and Stanford +200 and Stanford +225 as of Friday afternoon.
The moneyline opened at California -227 and Stanford +187 on Sunday, according to the sports betting aggregator SportsLine.
Bets placed at the most favorable moneyline odds of California -250 would require a $250 bet to win $100 if California beats Stanford.
Wagers on Stanford’s most favorable moneyline odds of Stanford +225 would pay $225 on a $100 bet in Stanford pulls off the upset against California.

The California Golden Bears are 4-6 against the spread in the 2023 college football season, while the Stanford Cardinal are 5-5.
Stanford leads the Big Game series, 65-49-11, but California has won three of the last four matchups. The Golden Bears won the Big Game last year in Berkeley, Calif., 27-20, in a come-from-behind victory.
The last Big Game played at Stanford Stadium was on Nov. 20, 2021, and resulted in a California 41-11 blowout.
Stanford has not won a home game at Stanford Stadium this season. The Cardinal’s last win at home was on Oct. 22, 2022, against the Arizona State Sun Devils. Stanford won 15-14 then.
According to Vegas Insider’s analysis of bets placed this week, 53% of wagers with the point spread have been on the California Golden Bears. Two out of three moneyline bets have been on California, and 62% of total score bets have been placed on the over.
However, a large majority of the dollars bet (71%) on the spread have been on Stanford, according to Vegas Insider. The sports aggregators also notes that more than half (52%) of the money wagered on total score action this week has been on the over.
