Thank god for the portal and NIL!.....you got a 17 year old unproven kid verses 21 year proven player with lots of snaps looking to get paid. Always pay for experience and proven record before potential! Old school vs. new school! I like the new school way!
Just the facts: Big10 is a much better conference than ACC, Oregon is a world-class football program and Cal is not, Berkeley is the best public U in the world and Oregon is hardly that. The boys chose the NFL route... good luck to them.
Yes. A degree from Oregon will likely not get u in the door for a quality job interview. A degree from Cal will. But these “student athletes” could care less. Hard for them to appreciate at this young age that there is life after football.
He's a mountain of a dude - 6'6" maybe 6'7" depending on the source and about 330 pounds - with mostly good body composition, but can and should be honed into a machine. And very few people move that well for someone that large. Nice quick steps, good foot technique, active hands, good motor, and a few little nasty eff-yous at the end of plays to show he's got a fighter's attitude.
I am so fired up to see Tommy and his brother at Cal.
Coach Anae has been cookin'. If he coaches as well as he recruits, the offensive line is in good hands.

Gotta give this staff some credit. The 2026 class is looking great. Go Bears.

I'm getting the sense that the last transfer exodus on offense was very much like when Dykes came in and decided to soft restart the team. Let's just hope that Harsin's first year as our OC isn't as rough.

Mrjpark: The big difference with Dykes is that none of his defenses could stop a sneeze, which was a big reason we were 1-11 in his first season. If Harsin and the rest of the coaching staff can harness these recruits into even above average performances combined with Cal's usually stellar defense, then Cal will start to be a program on the upswing.

Ok this is fantastic news! And it seems more likely than average that he'd ultimately sign and enroll.

I was talking with someone recently about seeing John Tofi playing in the Summer Pro League in the aughts at Kezar Pavilion. He was the center on the Crusader team, which included Marquise Kately, that won a state title in 2002. I am guessing he is related to John and Tommy, perhaps quite closely.

Awesome! Like everyone has been saying a strong offensive line is critical. It makes everything work significantly better and can also help us recruit skilled offensive players. GO BEARS!!!
I wish the big fancy “COMMITTED” graphics could be reshared…what a meaningless word it has become. And that new one showing the young man about to quaff the Kool-Aid from a beaker is just a little sick.
Sure, they went up there on nice summer day. Wait til late fall and winter. It rains most of the time and it gets wet cold. They'll be sorry especially since they're Hawaiians.
WFC: What took so long to report this? This bad news was announced on Rivals a week ago.

It sucks, but it's oddly comforting to see something that still happened regularly before the NIL era. It's a sad little time capsule.
Anyone down to go duck hunting this weekend? Bastards.

Yes, this sucks. Particularly Tofi, I could see him possibly starting as a Freshman at Cal. Oh well bye, bye, next BEAR up!
shocker
Wow this is dirty.
Afraid to compete
Remember these? Good times:

Tommy was #1 on my wish list for Cal recruits. He is a beast - a man amongst boys. If you want to watch him beat up high school kids, watch this:

The salve of money will more than make up for the bad weather.
And winning
That, too.
