But no CAL running shoes to be found in the Pegasus NIKE line within the Nike.com site.... Stanford, U$C, ucLA, Oregon, WSU, Boise State, Michigan, Penn State... but no Cal even though Cal now sports Nike equipment. fail.
I finally found a place where they were selling the Big Game jerseys from last year. I'm probably gonna buy three or four jerseys when they finally come out. I can't wait.
I don’t care too much which apparel company we go with, but obviously want someone that will pay us. Also UA’s “Sather Stripe” was sort of lazy and dumb - it seemed like they spent about five minutes of mental energy coming up with that. Suggestion box for Nike: Would be cool to lean into the history of counterculture/protest for an alt uniform design.
It amazes me that all anyone talks about regarding this matter is Fashion and Finance. The crux of the matter is that All Cal Student Athletes were forced to wear inferior footwear and apparel! It hurt in recruiting. It hurt in training and preparation. It hurt in performance!
The UA situation was abysmal so obviously good to be back with Nike in comparison. The yoots like a bunch of stuff I think often looks weird and ugly and I am a dinosaur who likes Cal football more than the fashion. To that extent, the most important thing is getting good service and getting paid.
I want traditional uniforms, Nike can do that. Everything UA did was awful. All the Cal uniforms except for the old school football throwbacks were awful! The stripes in the football uniforms F, the baseball pants with the stripe going 3/4 down F , the basketball ball uniforms F. Not one thing that UA did looked good at all. If Nike stays traditional it will work, if they try to out think themselves it won’t. Whatever you do don’t wear black uniforms and make sure you don’t have the same color numbers as the jerseyd
Not too thrilled – Nike uniform designs tend to emphasize glitz over tradition, and the results can be pretty gross. That said, I’m sure this is a good deal for the university.
It depends upon the school. The Ducks are going to Duck in eye-blinding fashion. By contrast, Ohio State remains very traditional with almost no exceptions.
I hope Cal takes the latter approach, except (maybe) as some others have suggested, carefully curated special uniforms to honor special people and moments.
Do you think we will get Jordans for the basketball team? That would be nice. It would have been bad PR for Nike/Jordan with our previous basketball teams, but now we can do better.
I doubt it unfortunately. They’re like 5 schools with Jordan brand and they’re either basketball bluebloods (in hoops or football) or HBCUs. UCLA, UNC, Howard, Oklahoma, Michigan, and Florida. I think that is it.
Ben Braun had a good relationship with the Jordan Brand . . . and also Jordan Brand has very little money so we were willing to go with them for the branding.

I like Gold helmets.

I'm just hoping that I can find a fitted Cal hat. I've been having fits trying to find one to replace my beat-up one.

Underrated post
I hope we go to Adidas one day, but for my beloved Golden Bears I fully support it.

Now, Beast Mode – THERE’S a collaboration.

I like our Nike uniforms we had in mind 2000s.
The only brand I’d prefer over Nike is Jordan. This is a nice step up given the BS UA pulled.

I don't know if it's currently so but when Cal had Jordans, Marquette, Cincinnati, St. John, and Georgetown also had it
I wonder how we got it last time
