So frustrating. Both teams are lshooting terribly, but it looks like Cal's defense is the reason Columbia is struggling. Cal's just not hitting open shots and putbacks. With our defending, we could be on pace for 90 otherwise.
Columbia is fouling, mainly because they seem frankly outclassed right now. They're playing worse than their ranking would suggest so they might still lock in. Cal hitting a few 3s should squash to much of that nonsense.
We'd have a gigantic lead if we could hit our shots the way we normally can. Good looks and we're getting offensive boards. Otherwise, we're playing well.
Great D intensity in the game, many takeaways and switches from double teaming back to coverage in paint. One drawback is Bears are not converting takeaways to buckets. Several slams already and Dort at 5 rebounds far
A good win against a sneaky tough Columbia team. Now let's BEAT LOUISVILLE!
GO BEARS.
A good W. Now to the regular season. Some tough games coming up
Cal has it in the bag. Go Bears!
Game has loosened up now. Both teams getting buckets but Cal still defending well enough to grow the lead.
Cal is getting sloppy again, though.
Is Campbell injured?
Yea he missed last game and this game. Not much info on the injury or the severity though
And other than fUCLA at Chase, the team has looked their absolute best the past 2 games, so there’s that.
Good scouting by Bears. Columbia guards seem susceptible to wrap around tip aways. They’ve gotten several.
Go Bears!
Anybody know who #50 is? I think I saw him play the last few seconds of the first half, but I don't see that number on the roster.
Yes, Nolan. He changed his number. On the roster sheet that they’ve been handing out this week at the games he still is listed as #21.
Dorsey, I think. They mentioned the new jersey number during the Morgan State game but I don't know the reason.
So many Madsens.
Dance cam going at game now!!
The Bears best half of defense this year. They need same effort in second half.

No other teams playing very physically. And refs are letting them bang.

Too much eggnog.
Sometimes the shots don't fall because of tired legs. But we're moving great on defense so I think this is just a cold stretch.

My goodness, Dai Dai!

3 blocks, 4 steals, 4 offensive rebounds already. Ball just isn't going in.
And Dort makes it 4 blocks
Rodgers vs Goff in the Sunday afternoon game. Both looking pretty good so far.
Lions fighting for a playoff spot.
