I see them as a slightly all around better version of Cal, with a higher floor and lower ceiling.. on paper. Fleck is a very good coach. I have no idea what to expect in this game and think it will be a good measuring stick for both, in terms of where they are at as football teams, regardless of future schedule. Given the strength of defenses you can see why most of the money is betting on the Under. Such a shame Cade will be out the first half..
Hopefully, their star RB won't play, their entire team will be tired playing late, and they'll be intimidated playing in jam-packed, loud Memorial Stadium against the sturdy GOLDEN BEARS!
So 70% of the money line BETS are on the Gophers, but 98% of the money line DOLLARS are on Cal? I’m not a gambler; do I have this right? If so there must be some big bets on Cal.
Ain't touching this one!
A few misc items from Minn write ups..:
..First meaningful game of season.
...Minn projected a high 2nd tier Big10 team with a brutal B10 schedule.
Looking at 8-6 to 6-6 projections for league record.
...A "statement " game.
....they seem to be worried about the time difference which equals a 9:30pm Central time start for them.
They seem mediocre like Cal...who wins the matchup of, at this point, so-so teams ?

Mediocre is underselling them a bit. Other than Ohio State Michigan, Oregon, they can probably beat anyone in the conference.

Yes, at the time of publishing (Wednesday night)
I like the sound of that - smart money is on Cal
