Room for improvement but a nice wire-to-wire win

UOP is not awful - but plenty to clean up rotation-wise if you’re gonna beat ACC teams and push for the bubble.

Next season, we really need to find more bigs in the transfer portal.

Yup.

We need donors. MBB NIL is soooooo light.

Our Tournament candidacy is done. Guess Kocanas and Dut are nowhere near ready because Ilic isn’t giving them much, other than passing.

Question is: IF Sammie watch me Whip and Yea-nay nay gets healthy enough to suit up, does he get meaningful run?

We miss Rytis.

A bit of an ugly win. But those will happen the course of season - and the win is the key. 20 wins is the goal for a tourney spot. And UCLA and K State do well!

DJ Campbell can not play at this level.

You were negative about Pippen early on. Campbell is OK. He's quick and can get down hill fast. We had too much of that last year but I think he complements the team well. He just needs to see the ball go down a few times...

I hear ya, but totally different players and situations.

Pippen showed he CAN play at this level after being highly recruited to Michigan but showing little FR year in Ann Arbor. He proved he belongs.

Campbell has shown he can not play starter’s minutes at this level in a larger sample size. He was 1 of the most inefficient players in the ACC last year and is not a 20+ mpg player on a contending P4 roster. 1-6 from FT line? Gives you nothing but 6-8 minutes of D. That is his role - hopefully back to that when Rytis returns, as he’s trying to do too much now. His low efficiency numbers have remained constant, though, and with Ruff out MM has no other choice now down RP.

But he’s hopefully in a different role come ACC play or this team probably isn’t dancing once the schedule gets tougher.

10:08 left…Madsen frustrated and calls a timeout.

As with Utah, a lineup of Campbell, Ilic, Dorsey, TT and in this case, Bell, is not good enough offensively.

DJ just isn't a lead guard. I feel like we need to stagger Pippen and Dai Dai so that one of them is on the court at all times. We won't be able to survive with these lineups against the ACC.

DJ Campbell takes a horrible, contested shot with 18 seconds on the shot clock and Cal hasn’t scored since and lost half its lead.
