All of Auburn fandom is bristling with anger over Ott's comments and I AM ABSOLUTELY HERE FOR IT. You've got old southern boys convincing themselves Ott will be held to 40 yards... Sure, bud, sure.

The official Instagram revealed Saturday's jersey combo. It will be blue on gold. WTF??

Not sure why all of you like the matchy-matchy motif. Cal does not need gimmicks to show out. Personally, I prefer the classic blue on gold. The fans can wear gold, that's fine. Roll on you Bears!

Fans don't want to wear gold as most of us don't have gold Cal gear. Gold out is a terrible idea especially for a night game when we have even less options for Cal gear.

I personally like gold on blue. They are used for prime time games. I hate the gold on gold banana suits.

With the gold helmets unleashed in last years Big Game, they could have gone gold on gold on gold. Wouldn't that be the definition of a Goldout? Plus Cal are undefeated in the golden helms.

Auburn's main color is dark blue. Shouldn't we have gone pure gold for the total contrast?

Auburn will be wearing white jerseys.

Yes, and white pants.

Did they not get the memo? It’s a gold out!

C’mon Cal!!!

so great...love the different personalities of the players and love cool Ott the most! Reminds me of BeastMode in some ways...does not give a shit about reporters and is quietly confident. Parenthetically , just saw we are picked for two different bowl games already by the gurus at ESPN...love it! Go Bears!

BEN FINLEY IS PROBABLY GOING TO END UP BEING CAL.S BEST CHOICE. HE IS MORE APEALING TO ME AT 6.3" ITS EASIER FOR HIMT TO SEE OVER HEADS WHEN HE HAS TO THROW PASSES. WE NEED ANOTHER AARON ROGERS RIGHT NOW. I'LL WATCH AND PRAY SATURDAY, BUT JUST TO BE SAFE I'LL KEEP MY EXPECTATIONS LOW AND MY HOPES HIGH. GERBEAR

What I saw was Finley forecasting his passes, he had a number of passes off of defenders fingertips before he ended up getting picked. North Texas wasn't athletic enough to take advantage of that, but Auburn will be. I'd be concerned with Finley playing unless he gets coached up a lot this week.

Yeah Finely needs more zip on his throws. He also needs to stop running backwards.

Agree with your concern - I noticed some of Finley's passes as well where I felt it would have gotten picked off by a more athletic team.

But what I do like about Finley is his decisiveness in commanding the offense. I felt we had more of the foundational identity that Spavital hinted at with Finley more than with SJV leading the offense. With Finley - it really felt like we have the balanced RPO where we might pass or we might run. SJV leading the offense made me feel like we are a run first (or run-only) team, which makes us more one-dimensional, ironically despite SJV's dual-threat abilities.

Interesting point. I felt like SJV had more accuracy than I expected, but I hear your point on decision making.

I also felt that Finley seemed like the better overall quarterback last Saturday.

Besides the first TD strike, it seemed like SJV wasn't as accurate and was less decisive. However, SJV clearly has better legs for when things break down, which also puts a little more pressure on Auburn's defense.

North Texas' talent were a lot less athletic and poorly coached... so maybe Spavital is right that SJV gives us the best chance to win against better competition. I'm grateful that we have two usable QBs (and hope to be proven wrong about Finley being the better QB for us this year). Trusting Spavital.

The good thing is that we probably have three QB's who can play PAC 12 caliber football, at least until this season where seemingly every team has a good to great QB. We know Finley can play and Mendoza often looked good in practice, can't read too much into his garbage time minutes last week when he was handing it off to the 4th string tailback. Heck even he had a 27 yard run. Overall feeling good about the backs.

Yes, good point, having three QBs who can play is a big change for us from the past several years. I think that the first game nerves that Jackson experienced will be all gone, and he will be fine if he starts on Saturday night. He has friends on the other side he played with, makes it more familiar. I love our backs, they are terrific. Am very interested in how our OL and DL hold up Saturday. I have a good feeling they will keep us in the game all night. Cal can win this game. Go Bears!
