Until today, my ESPN app was telling me I had video access to ESPN channels. Today, it told me I need to sign up and pay to see ESPN+. Bummer. But I was away for most of the game anyway. I do see next week's game on my schedule, so should be able to watch that.

Bowlesman 80's avatar

You’re lucky. You get the results without the cardiac stress

Bob Dole's avatar

Get Hulu. It has espn +

ShanghaiDave93's avatar

Thank goodness we don’t open against an FCS opponent next year. It’s at Oregon St and nothing bad ever happened there…

Bowlesman80's avatar

Oh, yeah, Reeser Is a cakewalk.

Dominick Damiani's avatar

. I believe the debut starts when play an actual ACC team.

freespeechlover's avatar

I believe you're right.

CamHand's avatar

Over already? time flies...

TezCalipoca's avatar

Unlike the rest of the ACC, Cal is 1 -0

Bowlesman80's avatar

They're quakin' in their cleats.

Look out, Auburn. We might actually make a First Down.

ak_A_bear's avatar

Escape formation.

WilderThanGene's avatar

Normally you say let's get the hell out of here after an ugly road win, but I feel like Cal should just leave town for a day

Dominick Damiani's avatar

Fake handoff to Caldwell and have Rogers run to the outside

ABA Ivan Davis's avatar

The t v announcer sounded like he let out what's wrong with jayden off. It is a knee injury not an ankle. He didn't look that upset on the sidelineso he might Be available next week.

Go Eat A Taco's avatar

Perhaps, but his initial reaction suggested otherwise. I hope not, but I ask: "Why the fuck was he playing in the 3rd qrtr against UCD?"

GoldenSD81's avatar

Because Wilcox can blow out a FCS teams so we needed all of our starters in order to win today.

ABA Ivan Davis's avatar

To close out the game

Go Eat A Taco's avatar

Why did Cal need to close out the game against UCD in the 3rd Qrtr?

Bluehenbear's avatar

Another oline failure

Go Eat A Taco's avatar

Complete, and no I don't care that 2 projected starters were out. They are projected and may be just as porous as these 5 were tonight.

CamHand's avatar

Run the clock down to the 2 minute mark. Wilcox will make a good NFL coach someday, preferably very soon.

GoldenSD81's avatar

If Wilcox had blown out Davis and had a 14+ halftime lead, we don’t even need Ott in the second half and he doesn’t get injured.

Bluehenbear's avatar

Ott does not look good. Not bending right leg at all. Crap!

Dominick Damiani's avatar

Ott still limping.. But , did they say what part of his body is injured

Bluehenbear's avatar

All we will get is the classic “lower body injury “

GoldenSD81's avatar

No but we are all assuming it was his ankle that got rolled in the pile on that tackle.

CN's avatar

Mendoza could not move the ball up the field. He can’t son anything with out OTT. Good luck next week though. This game has been in slow motion since it started. But, you like what you like

royrules22's avatar

Wtf did he do to you? This is uncalled for

Bob Dole's avatar

Rogers looked awful. Mendoza led all scoring drives. He’s QB1

royrules22's avatar

That doesn't make him a brat. It's an uncalled for personal attack

CN's avatar

That was a last minute coach decision

CN's avatar

That’s classless

GlueAndBold's avatar

Classic 4th down INT

GoldenSD81's avatar

Nice pick, Williams is having a great game.

sacman701's avatar

Should have batted it down. Won't matter in this game, but you always need to be conscious of down and distance.

WilderThanGene's avatar

player of the game for sure

ABA Ivan Davis's avatar

Rogers is in to now protect our players from further injury.

coolingfan's avatar

This should've been his first appearance...

OskiOfTarth's avatar

to protect the margin from growing

GoldenSD81's avatar

And to protect Cal from covering the spread

CamHand's avatar

CBS shows the spread at only -21. Rogers needs to get close to save his spot in the two deep and Wilcox can kick one.

royrules22's avatar

Is it just me or is Cade and Aiden (the ND transfer) getting a lot of pressure in the 2nd half?

ABA Ivan Davis's avatar

Either way he's done for this game because the next two games a far bigger than this one

PCWT's avatar

I just returned to my desk - how bad is Ott hurt?

PCWT's avatar

I hate this for that kid - he deserves way better than what he got today. I hope that he's okay, not just for us but for his future et al.

CalGal2004's avatar

I’m not a doctor but….

He’s on the sideline walking around, favoring his right leg (ankle?). No trainers or medical staff hovering around.

GoldenSD81's avatar

Don’t be so modest but you did stay in a Holiday Inn last night.

CalGal2004's avatar

😄. (Shh… Just don’t tell Mr CG!)

GoldenSD81's avatar

No one know. Looks like an ankle injury, he was trying to walk it off on the sidelines but had a noticeable limp.

WilderThanGene's avatar

what sucks with any of these injuries is they can be worse than it looks before the swelling starts in a couple hours. which is why I always hate when the players need to try to play it off on the sideline, and the coaches and medical staff enable it. whatever is injured should be on ice right away. this dude is way too important.

royrules22's avatar

Is it just me or is Cade and Aiden (the ND transfer) getting a lot of pressure in the 2nd half?

DynamicWilcox's avatar

FCS D Line > SEC D Line

CamHand's avatar

You would know. Thanks for the analysis.

ABA Ivan Davis's avatar

Finally, Cal. is taking these guys seriously. The t v announcer said that jayden ott was in tears. That can only mean an a c l tear and I hope that's not true because that would mean he'd be out for the season. He seemed to be walking it off and even if it's not an ACL Injury, you should not play him the rest of this game. We also lost Calloway. That's our top 2 backs. We were 4 deep and will end thst now. Prayers to the injured.

CamHand's avatar

By "seriously" do you mean punting near midfield to win the position war or apparently trying to hurt them?

ABA Ivan Davis's avatar

I mean dominating these guys like we should have from the beginning. We gave them 6 points.

TezCalipoca's avatar

from tv view, looked more like an ankle. But still think that "crying" bit was a cheap shot by the reporter

WilderThanGene's avatar

I really hope its only an ankle. first thing I thought was knee in real time.

freespeechlover's avatar

He could have been crying without it meaning it was a serious injury. I'm sure he hates any injury at all, because it means coming out, etc. At least that's what I really really hope.

CamHand's avatar

Coulda been someone else... I could see Marshawn crying with him... RB's are sensitive like that...

TezCalipoca's avatar

I just don't like the vibe of the reporter trying to eavesdrop under the tent, or whatever she was doing. The privacy is the point of the tent.

ak_A_bear's avatar

Yes. It’s saying anything to make it dramatic when it could be just the reporter projecting and verbalizing it.

WilderThanGene's avatar

she said she was walking with him on the sideline, then he sat down by himself, put a towel over his head, and it sounded like he was crying. that was before he went into the tent.

Dominick Damiani's avatar

Why not run on 3rd down and let the clock run down.

OldSoCalBear's avatar

Bloesh doesn't believe in running between the tackles. It's got to be between the guards.

royrules22's avatar

Ok now is the time for CJ Harris not Mendoza

ShanghaiDave93's avatar

I wouldn’t mind that - need to give all three some valuable, on-field experience.

bearacious's avatar

Uluave balling out

ShanghaiDave93's avatar

Mendoza back in? Doesn’t matter who the QB is now - hand off time

WilderThanGene's avatar

I think we should start kneeling the ball before anything else bad happens

OldSoCalBear's avatar

I guess the yellow first down line machine broke.

royrules22's avatar

So what's the latest on Ott?

CalGal2004's avatar

He’s sitting, standing, walking the sideline with a slight limp. Favoring his right leg. He’s still dressed.

TezCalipoca's avatar

I didn't like the sideline reporting saying she "thought maybe" she heard crying in the tent. Cheap shot.

CamHand's avatar

She was prob the one crying and tried to blame it on someone a little more professional at their job.

GoldenSD81's avatar

No update since he went into the tent.

DynamicWilcox's avatar

i like to keep my QBs on their toes and make sure they don't get an ego if they're hot. I'll play both until the Stanford game.

CN's avatar

I’m at the game & I can say the QB’s did not get equal time. You should always play your most experienced QB if you want to win..

Stats don’t lie!!

royrules22's avatar

No they didn't get equal time. But Rodgers got more than he should've

CamHand's avatar

I agree but even more than that, each one should have gotten more at a stretch. Seriously. You want to screw up rhythm then just change willy nilly.

OskiOfTarth's avatar

I amazingly predicted a qb draw

Bob Dole's avatar

STOP PLAYING ROGERS

CN's avatar

You’re funny

ShanghaiDave93's avatar

Even my dog saw that one coming

Daddy's avatar

Mendoza should have had one more series. Why is rodgers in?!

CN's avatar

Mendoza can’t move the ball!

WilderThanGene's avatar

I think we're trying to pretend the first half didn't happen now

DynamicWilcox's avatar

my coaching gameplan is to always end games as close to the spread as possible

coolingfan's avatar

Is that why you changed the QB again

DynamicWilcox's avatar

yep if vegas can't figure me out, no ACC team can!

GoldenSD81's avatar

You are so smart coach! We are lucky to have you.

sacman701's avatar

If these stats are accurate, UCD has just 19 yards this half.

CamHand's avatar

I haven't measured but it sounds reasonable. Bears' D has held after the break...

Bluehenbear's avatar

Geez, can we get a replay before cutting to commercial?

ak_A_bear's avatar

I wonder if it’s the sun exposure that impacting Davis…( right )

WilderThanGene's avatar

was gonna say this earlier.. it's about damn time the other team gets to bake

coolingfan's avatar

I was just going to say the same thing! I always wondered if we'd perform better in day games if we moved to the opposite sideline and stood in shades.

CamHand's avatar

The team coulda worn sunglasses on either sideline...

ak_A_bear's avatar

There was a WSU game, we lost, a couple seasons back where I thought it was part of the causality. Lots of hands shielding faces and strained looks on the sidelines.

coolingfan's avatar

Personally, after sitting in Section U on a bright day, I never returned to that side of the stadium.

WilderThanGene's avatar

From the beginning I was hoping Calloway would start and dominate this game like Ifanse did against Idaho last year. Wilcox had the sense not to play Ott last year, what changed this year?

TD_24's avatar

Ott was hurt heading into Idaho, this being the season opener changes your situation calculus

WilderThanGene's avatar

oh yeah, you're right, for some reason I thought Idaho was the opener

Daddy's avatar

I still watch his highlights. Dude was fun to watch.

Dominick Damiani's avatar

The announcers are making it a big introduction to the ACC. Let's wait until we actually play an ACC team. We are playing a FBS school that was giving Cal trouble . Can they really produce when We face Miami in a few weeks

ShanghaiDave93's avatar

Nice play! Making something happen
