These two teams are well suited to play right now. Both fan bases are morose. Both teams have reasons to be better than they are playing. It's a real crap shoot. I wouldn't think twice if Cal lost by 24. I wouldn't think twice if Cal won by 24. It's a toss up. And nothing on paper can decide this game because both teams are playing below their level.
I would definitely think twice if Cal won by 24...this Cal team does not play fundamentally sound & is not 24 points better than any team in the country.
Cal can’t tackle...this is a problem in tackle football...
In a way I am surprised the line is that close considering the Huskies' 52-3 victory yesterday. I expect the Bears to cover and maybe pull off the upset. On Dawg Pound they are saying that UW will win because the Bears don't have Evan Weaver anymore.
I lurk on that site occasionally, and boy is that fanbase something... Not only do they constantly turn their nose up at being compared with Cal, despite not beating us in years, but one little run-up-the-score game and they think they're a lock. Let's just say I really hope we beat them.
Am I reading this incorrectly, or are we actually allowing *more* YPG than WSU? 448 > 436...
In any case, I'm surprised this line isn't closer. Yeah, Cal has given up a lot of yards so far... but it's been to actual decent quarterbacks with experience. I don't know if Dylan Morris fits that bill. And their defense hasn't looked all that formidable either. I'm expecting an ugly game where Cal covers the spread, barring any horrific special teams ridiculousness (which of course is within the realm of possibility).
After my original comment I thought on it more and you are right. I have since bet the over on this game, and bet Cal to win outright... Hope springs eternal!

Honestly? Good. I fully expect the Bears to come out angry and ready for yet another upset over UW.

Sac St's QB is closer to Dylan Morris than Carson Strong was. And we gave up 400 yards combined to their two QBs...

Can we get Evan Weaver back for this game?
Well, he's out of the League for now. Really miss his instinctiveness on D.
I wish he could teach those instincts to our current inside linebackers.
