Your writing is superb. As I read the text , I could nearly see the doberman and loft. Your description of your encounter with aloof cousins is priceless. Write On!!
In the meta view, Petersen has hired Charmin Smith - who seems to be an excellent hire, but circumstances have been heavily against her first team. And Mark Fox, who has been horrible, so rather than calling for Wilcox's head, I'd rather hope he turns it around and fixes what is ailing the defense, because we can win with this offense, even with the special teams miscues. If we could find a way to get that defense up to even 2017 levels (nevermind 18/19) we would be able to right the ship a little bit.
Nam's first section of his untitled book is a good read, so everyone take time to do so. It's also a break from the dread that is Cal football this year.
Ah man, that's so kind of you - thank you!! I'm excited to see what it becomes and I'm sure I will be posting another update soon. (Or, if nothing else, using a small space of The Novel to plug some other things on occasion.)
What I hope for on game days, is always a win. What I write about is always from the point of view of an analyst. So, I hope, like you, that Wilcox does pull it off. But the road is long and difficult right now -- even getting the Nevada win back would have been huge just for the numbers. There's just no more margin for error going forward, is all.
Nam,
