Cal at Washington a 7:30 pm Pac-12 After Dark kickoff on ESPN
The California Golden Bears will get the national spotlight in late night for the second time in three weeks.
Cal will kickoff its final season of Pac-12 play against the eighth-ranked Washington Huskies for what will likely be another highly chaotic matchup. The game is a 7:30 pm Pacific, 10:30 pm Eastern matchup on ESPN.
This will be the fourth game in a row in Seattle that Cal and Washington get the late night Pac-12 spot.
Cal and Washington have gone to the wire in their last four matchups, despite Washington being the heavy favorite in three of those games.
2018: Washington went into Berkeley and could only manage 10 points as an Evan Weaver pick six made the difference and Cal landed their biggest upset of the Justin Wilcox era.
2019: Cal and Washington endured a three-plus hour lightning delay, then rallied for a second half comeback. I was there so I can confirm it happened.
2021: Cal and Washington went back and forth in an overtime matchup that unfortunately ended in a Cal fumble just short of the goalline.
2022: Cal rallied after a disastrous Colorado loss to play a peaking Washington team close, but just didn't have enough juice to make the full rally back.
Despite the vast gap in expectations for both programs, Cal and Washington generally play each other closely.
What are your thoughts on this game Cal fans?
I bet it's going to be a classic Pac12 After Dark game. Washington always seems to have our number.
This team better learn to win. It better get an offense that can score in the red zone and a kicker who can make those field goals every darn time. Otherwise, it doesn't matter if it is Idaho or Washington or whoever. We lose. And we keep losing games we should win. Thats my thoughts. Plus, I bet Cal comes out really pissed and plays hard against Idaho.
