Much as I liked Cailyn Crocker we could conceivably upgrade over her through the transfer portal. I agree that class balance has to be a factor in bringing a new player(s) in.
We need to find a replacement for Dalayah. When she was in the zone and playing well this season, she kept us in many games. An athletic 4, like Sue Bird mentioned during the BTS show, would be a big help for this team.
Also, a consistent 3-point shooter -- Crocker came the closest -- would be a welcome addition.

MiCole Cayton got her masters at Nebraska and is now in the portal, looking to finish off her last year of eligibility during her first year of a PhD program somewhere. I'm not sure that her skills are what we need now, but it'd be interesting to see if she wants to come back. Ortiz could become the first player to finish a PhD before exhausting her eligibility.
Adding a perimeter defender would be nice too. We struggled defending 3-point FG shooters
