Nicely worded. I've watched a few games, either live or on-demand (11 pm starts on the East Coast are hard to stay up for!). You can clearly see the difference in swagger & comradery, not to mention the calmness when other teams make a run. They know that if they work the program, good things will happen. Major props to Charmin Smith for what she's done. Mea culpa - I was calling for her head two years ago. I clearly was wrong, or at the very least too impatient. GO BEARS!!!
Well said, Thomas! Let’s support Charmin and these players by showing up, Bears fans. Good job synthesizing this team’s prospects for a breakout year in conference. If they can reach .500 in ACC play, that would be a success. They’re shooting for even better. Great team to watch.
Good post. I would just have noted up front how this prime sport Cal team deserves the types of crowds that other top 25 teams get....and some $$$ donated if you can't attend in person...even $25 to show your appreciation for what Charmin and the team are achieving while earning national attention in a sport/division with almost 350 teams. The next two home games host #22 NC State and 11-2 Florida St. (~#31). Big difference in the energy and impact of a home crowd of 2,500 versus 1,000. Go Bears!
This team is talented, well-coached, and very fun to watch. I look forward to live chatting about the women's team more than the men's right now because it's a much more refined basketball product.
I don't want to add too much work for the mods, but is it possible to have a designated place to discuss these games? Or is there one that I don't know about?
I wish I had chosen my vacation better. Could have seen 3 North Carolina games (2 men's, 1 women's) in mid-January. But I need to make vacation requests long before the schedules are released.
