Cal Women’s basketball also is losing a player to the portal, after the Men’s team lost Dimitrios Klonaras as a grad transfer. Charmin Smith’s team loses Sophomore Dalayah Daniels to the portal.
The 6-foot-3 Guard/Forward from Seattle, Washington was the 13th overall prospect in the 2020 class. She was an honorable mention in the PAC-12 All-Freshman team for the 2020/2021 season. She played in 21 games this past season, starting in 12 of them. She averaged 21.2 minutes a game scoring 7.9 points per game on 42.8% shooting.
A source familiar with the situation tells @TheNextHoops that Dalayah Daniels of @CalWBBall has entered the transfer portal. The Sophomore guard/forward was the fourth leading scorer for the Golden Bears averaging 7.9 points and 4.9 rebounds.
Thank you for your time here Dalayah! We wish you nothing but the best wherever you decide to go.
She worked so hard to improve her game, especially her shooting motion. I feel this is big loss for Cal, DD was only getting better and I was looking forward to seeing her development. She stated something about "happiness" in her tweet, I hope she is OK and finds what she is searching for in a new team / environment. She'll be missed.
I'm starting to hate the portal.....
