Unusual game but teams scout Cal and know key is to get Michelle in foul trouble. In first half she was doing an excellent job to avoid anything approaching a foul, but MSU kept attacking her and got two favorable calls
When a team plays as aggressively as MSU the refs seem to favor the more aggressive team, and ironically whistle a much less egregious defensive play on the other team (usually Cal)
This was a lost opportunity for post season hopes as it would have been a signature neutral court win against a tournament te
I like Abigore a lot and she has been thrown in the deep end with our lack of size in the post
She will need to continue to grow up fast
A common theme has been our turnovers. Many from attempting to throw into the post, but also too many unforced turnovers including from our starting PG
Yes, twenty or more turnovers in each of the past three games is a big red flag. I think it’s been an unfortunate earmark for Cal women’s basketball for a while - the subpar assist to turnover ratio needs to be reversed.
Any word on why Jayda Noble didn't play today? We definitely needed her defense and rebounding.
My educated guess is that she felt the effects from her collision with 5:34 left in Q4 against Auburn. Contorted off a rebound
Good point. Thanks for the reminder. Hope she's back for Alabama next week.
