As a former long time coach of Football and Track, I can notice good athletes. These women are GREAT athletes. If you have a chance, watch one of their televised competitions. I guarantee you'll be impressed.
It was very entertaining certainly but the post meet coverage by the Pac 12 Network was very disappointing - not a single interview with a Cal coach or gymnast was shown and in its place was an interview with a gymnast from the losing side. They barely had time to show the Bears gathering for a team photo.
The difference in equipment is big! I saw a clip with a pre meet talk from Eliabeth Crandall-Howell talking about the difference in Stanford’s bouceyness but we would adjust because that’s what we do.
