Cal WR Nyziah Hunter Will Reportedly Enter the Transfer Portal
That one hurts
The transfer portal comes for all. According to Pete Nakos of On3 and Harlo Sports Group, the redshirt freshman out of Salinas will enter the transfer portal after a breakout year for Cal.
Hunter totaled 40 catches for 578 yards and five touchdowns this season for the Golden Bears and was one of Fernando Mendoza’s most reliable targets. Nyziah totaled two huge games in his second season on campus, catching two touchdowns in what ultimately became the difference at Auburn and help set up the Bears to finish going 98 yards with the boys in the Big Game.
Hunter will have three years of eligibility remaining at his next stop.
Big loss, very sad about this one. Unless Cal starts throwing around $20M+ dollars on NIL like the Oregons and Ohio States of the world, I think it's natural that Cal is going to occasionally lose preternatural talents like Hunter. Wish him success in the future and to get that bag.
