Day 1 Finals Results: A very promising start to this meet for the Cal Bears in this meet despite a false start DQ in the 200y Medley Relay. Freshman Claire Weinstein finished 2nd in the 1650y Free. She joined two fellow freshmen in Teagan O'Dell and Ella Cosgrove with breakout sophomore Mia West to claim 3rd in 800y Free relay.
Day 2 Prelim Results:
1 A/ 1 B in 100y Fly; 1 A in 400y IM; 2 A in 200y Free; just out of scoring in 18th and 20th in 100y Breast
Another change to shorten the evening session (not really sure why that's necessary) is the elimination of the B-Finals. So that's a 14th place for French Calympian Lilou Ressencourt in the 100y Fly.
Some changes to the format of the NCAA meet this year, including moving up the mile swim (1650 Free) to Day 1. The NCAA also controversially decides to split the different heats of the relay so that only the final heat will swim in the evening session (even though the winner can still come from an earlier heat). For Cal, all of the relevant Day 1 races will be in the evening with Claire Weinstein in the main heat for 1650 Free and the Golden Bears in the final heats of 800y Free and 200y Medley.
