Ifanse is a rs senior and clearly here for the edu
Cardwell would lose a year of eligibility and become a rs senior at his new institution having only had a partial season and a year behind Ott as evidence of his talent so that’s doubtful
Williams Thomas is a frosh and probably the most likely however he would have 2 years of pt ahead of him assuming Ott leaves for the NFL draft after yr.3
Stredick is a sophomore and I think he may transfer as a grad to somewhere small in Texas to have a go as a starter just to see what if. Personally he would hurt the most as I’ve always thought he had a ton of potential.
And the elephant in the room Jaydn Ott.
I think he goes to the league after graduating year 3. He has always been high on the cal degree so I don’t think he’d leave sans one, and at that point he’ll be draft eligible so why transfer when you can go to the nfl.
Health is the key. I think the OL and DL are pretty well set up for this season, but a couple of injuries could wipe that out. LB depth is a little questionable if there are any injuries there. Lots of talent at RB, DB, WR to cover injuries. TE is a bit of an unknown with all the turnover. Injuries are an unknown variable.
What is known is that the main variable will be QB performance. Good QB play could make this a shockingly successful season. As I’ve said before, one extra TD per game would have led to a 9-3 season
Jeremiah Earby and Lu-Magia Hearns III were standouts last year; now they're battling for one spot, along with others. What a difference the portal makes......
And RB excites ME the most. Give a guy the ball and there's ~5 guys that should be able to make something outstanding happen.
re: WRs.. Mason Starling looked very promising as big body possession receiver in the short time he filled in at the end of the year before getting injured. Hope he's healthy and gets the opportunity to pick up where he left off.
Yes a lot of competition at cb, nickel, and safety. We can make a jump in performance especially with enhanced D line play and pressuring the quarterback.
We absolutely do, but even basic football fans like most of us can see that the line couldn't block. Play calling factors, but the line gave up free runs to the QB on a regular basis. I'm a fan of the notion that we make things more complicated than they are, much of the time.
Clearly comma the offensive line is the most important position on the California roster period They must be able to run the football, and control the clock to keep some of these electric offenses they will be facing off the field.
I'm excited about all the RBs. Too much talent.
I'm sure about two thirds of them will transfer again after the season.
King dorue is a grad transfer so that’s doubtful

I'm excited for Brett Johnson finally winning the injury battle and getting to play.

Until otherwise proven, it's always OL
the offensive line will be better and with a better scheme and coaching, but without good QB play this is a tough conference
I'd say secondary is the most exciting and OL is the most intriguing
I'm intrigued by the stacked RB room and what the running game is going to look like.
I'm intrigued too but mainly about health... that's such a key here to run game (and RB pass pro) success

We need Rugbear’s analysis on the OLine
