The newest Cal football transfer is UNLV wide receiver Jacob De Jesus
The California Golden Bears land their first transfer wide receiver.
It’s been a busy week for the California Golden Bears with another round of critical transfer portal commits. Their latest add comes at the wide receiver position, with UNLV Runnin’ Rebels wide receiver Jacob De Jesus making the call to come home.
At 5-7 and 155 pounds, De Jesus caught 96 passes for 1118 yards and five touchdowns in the last two seasons in Las Vegas, including 60 catches for 606 yards and two touchdowns in 2023. De Jesus increased his yards per catch in 2024, nabbing 36 receptions for 512 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was also UNLV’s primary punt returner last year and returned kicks in 2023 (25.7 yards per return).
De Jesus had a critical punt return against Cal in the LA Bowl as well as a jet sweep touchdown to put UNLV on top for good. De Jesus excelled in these sweeps and end-arounds, as you can see in these highlights.
De Jesus should provide nice change of direction and versatility in the receiving room and allow Cal to be even more flexible in their playcall design with someone who can run these type of plays. He becomes Cal’s first transfer wide receiver in this class.
Welcome to Cal Jacob! Go Bears!
Last time we got someone from UNLV worked really well.
