Even though they're a good FCS team, our defense should overmatch them on talent alone. Unfortunately, this could be one of those that stays way closer than it should. Not a gimme for sure, though this will be the weakest team on our schedule.
A Super Bowl??? Please, playing a pac-something bottom dweller is far from the Super Bowl. Playing Montana or Montana State are far more Super Bowl like than this game. Funny how any FBS team thinks that the lowly FCS team is salivating and circling their game on our schedules
It is definitely a super bowl as far as exposure. They do not get the same looks that the bigger conferences get. This is likely the only game where they are properly judged as far as their NFL Talent.

Dread and trepidation mixed with terror and despair. Show me something, Bears. Show me the fighting spirit and intelligence of a Golden Bear. We should be in a place where games like this are good opportunities to play all our players and win in the first half. That's where we need to be. How many players on the Vandals would Cal even recruit, or Pac 12 members? So it's effort and coaching. Two things we can control.
Cal offered our DE Kemari Bailey a spot this spring when he hit the portal. He committed to Fresno State. We had another LB go to Georgia Tech, originally a Notre Dame recruit. Guys like Vani and Hatten are getting plenty of unofficial FBS offers. If this was the Vandals of 3 years ago you guys could blow us away on just effort and coaching. But Coach Eck really turned this team around last year and we are stoked for the sequel!

The problem is that this is like a Super bowl them.

The past several seasons, there is no such team that is not a formidable challenge for us no matter FBS, FCS, Power 5 whatever.
Unfortunately for Wilcox, this is the only gimme on the schedule.
There is no such thing as a gimme. Ask Nick Saban.

Well, as long as Wilcox wins all the difficult games and not just a gimmie, I'm fine.
It better not be a Wilcox win but lose special with a final score of 24-20.
The one I’m really worried about is at the Mean Green.
Has Weber State vibes from 2017 except we didnt know yet they were good, held us in check for most of the game.

This is a good question; you’d think that Cal would have a massive advantage and that this game should not be close.
Maybe we should invite them to the new Pac.
Nah, haven't you heard, we are joining the SEC. ;-)
I'll be happy if CAL gets through the first 3 games with a 2-1 record.
Being 3-0 looks like a tough challenge.
Another strong opponent for California.
They made one of the toughest pre season schedules they could.
Just a brutal schedule all around this year.
