I don't know if we can compare Spav to Baldwin yet (within the Wilcox era). But it certainly felt different than Musgrave and I cannot express the relief that gives me.
The odds makers were trying to convince the betters that North Texas was going to beat Cal. It is a good start. That is what GOOD Teams do when they have an inferior opponent. You have Auburns attention.
This is the first time I’ve been excited about cal football since Wilcox’s first year - when I had high hopes for the combo beau baldwin offense and wilcox defense. Let’s end our last year of pac12 existence with a bang! Go bears!
Our schedule is going to be brutal: we have to play USC, Oregon, Washington, Utah, OSU, and UCLA. We could have a losing record with a team that would post 8 wins in the ACC.
It is brutal but if CAL can steal a win against ucla then 6-6 is possible. With a win in bowl game Bears go 7-6. I'd be happy with that but I'm feeling hopelessly optimistic at the moment and can see 8-4 as a real possibility!
Slightly off topic but can somebody explain to me why Paul Finebaum gets so much attention? I have never heard him say anything interesting; he just talks $hit.
He's just an SEC guy, hence his perspective on all of this.
I don't see how inviting or not inviting Cal/Furd has any bearing on whether or not schools want to leave the ACC. If they want to do it they will do it. Inviting more teams just makes it more likely the conference still exists after that happens.
Rewatched the game to see how cindric went out. He messed up his left elbow on the second TD drive. Came back heavily taped for a couple plays and left clearly dangling his left arm a bit.
Welp, NT has some moderate heavies on their schedule including Navy and Tulane so time will tell, but by that time, we'll know if we're the real deal or not.
Hulu/Disney/ESPN - dump Spectrum cable (we did) - you'll save a few bucks also
Where can I rewatch the game? It was blacked out here due to Spectrum's kerfuffle with Disney/ESPN.

Thank you! Go Bears.
There should be some recaps on YouTube
It's funny but articles are showing up saying that how could big media eschew the Pac-12 to the point where there was simply no oxygen left.
The conference had its best Saturday since 1932 and has gone 13-0 over week zero and week one.
and every other major conference has at least two losses

Typical Musgrave play.
RB up the middle, but only if the sky is clear and it's past 2:00 pm
RT pull and block OLB on far left, but only if he had dairy for lunch
LT block DT, but, if it's overcast, block the noseguard.
Et cetera.
K.I.S.S.

Also how should I feel about Florida State dusting LSU? Do we want FSU to be really good? Is it irrelevant this year?
Questions.
I was thrilled with it because I loathe Brian Kelly.
At this stage I only care about the money. If we can somehow get money from 2023 FSU then I'm 100% behind them no matter how insufferable they may be.
Will the 2023 football season extra revenue be shared with Cal in 2024?
Not sure. Haven't read anything clear enough.
I decided to feel good about it after the 4th blown coverage.
I was subconsciously rooting for LSU because of Jayden Daniels. And, oops, how about that? Is FSU our new $C?
Sure seems like it (down to the band only knowing one five-second refrain)
Yeah, that "Chop" is as annoying as the one the Braves do.
I think Cal might be good, the problem is the Pac-12 might go out of existence as the best top to bottom conference in the country this year.

We’re going to beat Washington because that’s what Wilcox coached teams do.
But this year we’ll also beat UCLA

He never has anything good to say about Cal and other West Coast teams outside of USC. SEC Myopia
He's not alone.
Winning shuts this bullshit up.
And why are there so many sports writers that have clearly never been athletes? Or if they were ever, they weren't very good.
Amen to that Bowls guy. Also, so many commenters also.

I think everybody has signed with the new conferences, now.
WSU and OSU will likely do some kind of merge with MWC.
Pac12 is looking definitely better than Big 12 right now.

This is a delightfully sober yet optimistic accounting after Game One. We have hope, which we all know spurts perpetually.
Advance Ursi!!
