Congrats to Cal! Whipped our butt from the start, in a very hostile environment and didn’t hold up! Deserved.

Alex, any Cal fan knows the familiar agony of tipping one's hat, graciously, when their team underperforms... again. We Bears know the dance, and we respect it. Thanks for the comment, and good luck to you. (Hat tipped in return).

Thanks for the classy comment. Let’s do it again in the not too distant future. The home and home was great in a rock fight kind of way

No they don't. They knew exactly the type of person they hired.

Just remember this. Three ACC schools voted against Cal and Stanford. Since then, Florida State is 0-2 and has looked horrible. North Carolina barely beat a terrible Minnesota team. Clemson got CRUSHED by a school that voted FOR Cal and BTW, I went to high school with the Clemson University President James Clements. I had high regard for him UNTIL he attempted to screw over Cal. BTW part deux. I am not even a University of California grad. I am a Maryland grad and a 4 time Maryland letterman, but I married into a Cal family and my son became a 4th generation University of California graduate 2 years ago. I'm still pissed at Maryland President Darryl Pines who happens to be a California graduate himself (multiple times) for not doing everything possible to bring in Cal and Stanford into the B1G. I adore THE University of California and anyone that seeks to screw over Cal like USC and UCLA and FSU and Carolina and Clemson did are dead to me.

Wow! Are you sure you’re not an old blue?! Maybe one day this will evolve into a conference free landscape that emphasizes regional rivalries and match ups.

I am in my heart, but Maryland basketball is always my first love. Three years as Lefty Driesell's manager will do that. Was at his funeral 6 months ago in Norfolk, too.

I don’t think enough is being said about the fact that this was done with a depleted O-line and a third string Center, and they still overcame and made it happen.

Maybe it speaks to their new depth. The WR depth seems like a revelation. Just a little more consistency from O line and a return to health by Ott would be amazing.

Oh absolutely. I thought I remember one of the announcers saying one of them was making their first college start in that game.

Statement by the offense: We're not just Jaydn Ott.

Statement by the defense: We're back.

Nando for president?

His decision making was excellent.

Jayden clearly not himself today, but Thompson was a revelation in limited touches.

Defense resembled nothing like the 1sr half of the UCD game.

Let’s get healthy and let the chips fall where they may for the rest of the season. but for today, really proud of this team!

It’s apparent that the D kept some things under wraps for this game. Hopefully, more surprises upcoming. Would like to see more blitzing if secondary shows that they are able to man up. SDSU QB is a scrambler so Bears might need to put a spy on him.

Except for the one near pick six. His expression afterward was “what was I thinking?!”

You know, I have to say something: our university is really amazing. With all of the challenges it faces, it manages to be an ELITE academic institution AND a repeat SEC beater in CFB.

Not too many other “schools” like that in the universe. Very proud Bear today.

I am a weenie chickenshit. Cowardly bailed out after that PI to nullify the int then the td. Took a four plus mile walk with no iPhone. Got home 45 mins ago. Accidentally saw still frame of Wilcox presser on YouTube and perceived he was scowling which spooked me and quickly navigated to Cindy the Baboon vids (pretty good - I recommend), visited neighbor for small talk. Then faced up to firing up WFC to see the word "upset" and now, all is well in the world.

This was also a statement for Peter Sirmon. The rest of the season could fall apart, but he seems to have put together a really good defense again.

Like last year, Cal missed multiple field goals and had MAJOR game-changing (bogus) calls go against them. Auburn scored the same amount of points- 14. Difference? Superior QB play, one great run from Javian Thomas. Defense stout both games, but this game Cal got multiple turnovers leading to scores. Loved watching Auburn DB coming up to meet Thomas, and he just Jets away from him.
