I was also surprised Cal threw those lob passes to Michelle as I felt they were very risk plays. However the passer and Michelle were perfect and scored both times. Since the plays worked I think it was a great result. But we couldn't get a good shot in 12 seconds and that was that.

I was sad to see Leilani after the crushing loss (and her post game press conference)

Thanks for recapping her Cal career. She is my all time fav WBB player.

p.s. the men's team actually did earn an NIT invite, but declined.

We are huge Cal women’s basketball. The second quarter was horrible. No energy at all. They came out the second half a different team. I disagree with the comment regarding Coach Charmaine. I think she responded well to the other team. Our defense was really good after we were able to stop them from getting inside.

Those last three minutes were incredible. The team played with grit. I felt so bad for Leilani who has been our team leader for these last five years. She will be sorely missed. Really hoping Michele will stick around for another year. She is my girl! Good to see Mia play more. Her quickness on defense, even though she had had a few botched layups under pressure. I hope we don’t lose any of our players to the portal and just pick up some nice additions. Ioanna had zero points for much of the game. Glad she came to life at the end, but still should’ve taken some open shots that she had.

We were happy to have two extra games and we certainly gave it the old college try. Just a little a little too late.

We were also disappointed that the Cal men didn’t make it to the NIT. They were just so flat at the end. It’s disappointing to see five going through the transfer portal. Devin who barely played a game this year but the big hit is Rodney Brown. Hopefully he will stick around.

Such a tight game at the end and an almost heroic come from behind story!

- whatever happened to McKayla Williams? Didn’t see her for the 2 post season games on the bench or anywhere

If the game had ended after the first half I would have been pretty upset - we had no energy or ideas and fell behind a disciplined, methodical team.

We brought it in the second half - I even tweeted at Nick that we played a lot better after the third quarter - but lost a point. If we had played with the energy we used in the second half all game - we probably win by 5-7 points, but we didn’t and St Joes did. But we at least went down swinging

St. Joseph's is a disciplined, well-coached team. Cal is not. Therein was the difference. I don't know what will happen in the off season but I wouldn't mind a coaching change.

Was surprised at how small the crowd was, though Spring Break having started was a contributing factor.

Felt bad for the team, Leilani in particular was in tears after the game. She and the rest of the squad deserve kudos for battling to the end.

I was at the game. I sensed during warmups that St Joes wanted the game more. The refs let the teams play aggressively and St Joes took advantage of this. Let’s see what next year brings.
