Thanks Nick. I didn't get to watch it, but followed the score on my phone and held hope until the last minutes. Your summation matches my sense of things. Basketball is surely another sport where top talent with decent coaching will win most games. We've had that kind of top talent before, but not always with great coaching. Monty was the last to win it all with good, but not much elite talent. It's like there is a ratio there. Talent is like 70-80%. Coaching the rest. You can't be truly great without both. So I'm proud of our Bears for playing pretty well to their potential, and don't fault Fox for not getting more out of them. We need another couple pieces before we can topple the Oregon's and Arizona's with any regularity.
Agree with the recap - this is one where the talent gap was too large an obstacle overcome. Fox's teams probably are not going to win a lot of ballgames against competent teams when they're turning the ball over 17+ times. Nonetheless, even if 9-9 is the best-case ceiling for the foreseeable future, at least they're watchable.
Wrong game for Betley to go completely cold & look lost or it may have been a different game. 2/11 FG, 1/7 3's
Exactly...unfortunate subpar night

Agreed...player development is going to be key in the shadowy ruins left by Wyking...specifically Lars & Kuany.
We did better than expected for most of the game. Just couldn't pull it out in the end.

Thanks for the recap Nick.
You might want to update the story and actually include the final score. Somewhere. Anywhere.
