I’m happy he got his NIL bag but he isn’t getting drafted.
If he came back to Cal, he would have probably been a 1,000 yard rusher, might have gotten a Senior Bowl invite and likely could have been 5th-7th round pick.
Golden: I don't think he would have been a 1,000 yard rusher. While it is true that he has elite speed, in many ways he is as fragile as glass and he has been limited by injuries fo the last two seasons. In my view, Raphael has been a definite upgrade at running back. He scored 13 touchdowns and was a much tougher runner between the tackles. While I wish him well in all future endeavors and congratulate him on graduating from Cal in three years, Ott should be a perfect warning in the era of NIL that the grass isn't always greener somewhere else.
I agree about Raphael being a very tough runner, especially between the tackles but I don’t consider him an upgrade over Ott in terms of talent and speed. I think Ott and Raphael would have made a great RB tandem.
Obviously our OL had a lot of issues this season but the few times they would open a decent sized hole, Raphael would get gobbled up after a 3-5 yard gain and I remember feeling like if the had been Ott with the ball the play would have been a 10-15 yard run. Ott just had that extra gear
Will Ott even get a carry in tonight’s game?
Will he even get a snap?

Yeah. Different skill set. Both valuable to the team in unique ways

Next year is our turn to be in this CFP thing I have heard about. You know it.
You tell the story.
