"All time QBs with more TD passes than incomplete passes in a CFP game:
Fernando Mendoza (5 and 3) vs Oregon tonight (a top 5 pass defense this season)
Fernando Mendoza (3 and 2) vs Alabama in the Rose Bowl
Tua Tagovailoa (4 and 3) vs Oklahoma - 12/29/2018
That’s it, that’s the top 3 all time.
Casual 17/20, 177yds, 5 TD game by Mendoza tonight with a 241.8 QBR. He has 5 incompletions over 2 games, jfc.
Someone ask the folks who kept saying, “It’s hard to beat a good team twice” how hard it is to beat IU once."
Broadcast chyron at the end of the game said this was the 5th game this season where Mendoza had more TDs than incompletions. Nando was on fire, defense was absolutely dominant, IU as a team was locked TF in.
Since I love beating dead horses, what a perfect time this is to remind everyone that two seasons in a row, Justin Wilcox and his clownshow coaching staff had Fernando in a qb competition to begin the year. Good for ‘Nando. What a bunch of morons we had running the show.
He'd be good at taking a predictable .500 Mountain West team and making them an unpredictable .500 team that inflicts enough pain on its fans to keep it interesting.
Saw some hilarious tweets on Elon’s little forum from Oregon fans before and after the Texas Tech game last week about how unlike the Red Raiders, Oregon’s roster is built, NOT bought. Couldn’t help but chuckle - guess they forgot the billionaire that’s been funding (and until 3 years ago mostly illegally) their program…
Oregon's defense sucked. Indiana just "toyed" with them.
Welp our coach is free now whoohooo😂😂
I'm also very excited to see who will transfer to Cal from Oregon, and if we are getting any more coaches from them too.

Fernando. Magical.
Will Fernando find/mention Tosh post game? That would be chef’s kiss
Alberto didn't even get the kneel.
Tosh, Welcome back to Berkeley, officially.
LFG

I’m clearly a football genius because I saw him sub in at the 2023 UW game and thought “this guy should be the starter.”
Even after two starting seasons for Mendoza, I bet Wilcox would have taken Mendoza and Brown to the ACC Media Day had Mendoza not transferred.
Wilcox should never again wear another headset as a collegiate head coach…coordinator or the head guy at a good high school.

Indiana uses starters on special teams. I like that.
Yep.
AND they actually coach it.
Wonder how long until Oregon admin/fans turn on Lanning like Penn State did Franklin….
It’s gonna be fun to watch. Almost as fun as watching Phil knight try to buy a natty for years only to get beat by Indiana at his own game. Delicious.

When was the last time someone dropped 50 on Oregon?
Chatgpt says
Washington scored 70 points in a 70–21 win over Oregon in Eugene, Oregon
The real story is not Mendoza. It's the Indiana defense. 28 points handed to Indiana.
And experience.
Indiana has 45 players on their roster with 4 or more years of college football.
Good luck replacing that
Mendoza 17/20 5 TD 0 INT
More TDs than incompletions for the 2nd game in a row - against elite competition
Yep, to all the people that say it is just the system are ignoring Mendozas decision making within the system, his execution and his elite throws
I mean, they said the exact same thing about Kurtis Rourke, who put up similar numbers last year… ;-)
Okay Cig way past time to put in Alberto, save Nando for the NCG
There was a Frank Cignetti Jr mention on the broadcast. He used to ber our OC in 2008.
