Wow, being part of the ACC really does make the national slate more interesting! Take a look at all the ACC we can watch from Thursday to Monday!
Is Florida State ready to start playing Atlantic Coast Conference football? Or will they sue and contest that they are being held hostage and are being forced to lose against their will?
Boston College vs. Florida State, 4:30 PM Pacific, ESPN
So on one hand, I think the ACC desperately needs a powerhouse or two (or three) to represent the conference and help maintain a high level of interest and viewership. The ACC's primary claim to 3rd best conference (over B12) is thanks to the more recent high level successes of FSU and Clemson. Without them, or without some other team filling that void, the ACC is almost certainly going to drop below the B12 in terms of football strength. Might not matter much in the long run, but Yormark was a key player in the demise of the P12 and it seems like he would be more than willing to do it to the ACC if the opportunity arises. So staying ahead of them is likely going to help prevent the ACC from getting torn apart, because if a big gap in media and other revenues opens up between the two conferences, it could be a big problem (there are more than a few teams in the ACC that would fit well in the B12, but we are not one of them).
On the other hand, these guys are kinda the USC of the ACC, and it is fun to watch them loose. After the playoff snub I was kinda rooting for them to go on a revenge tour this year, but after the lawsuit antics, I guess I am not too bothered either way. And on the plus side for us, seems like this conference is pretty wide open. Not too optimistic that we can take advantage of it, especially after that Davis game, but we had a tough schedule in the Pac12 North, and if our performance in the Davis game portends another 6-6 season, that might actually translate to closer to 8 wins with this new schedule.
I think Ward is a better QB overall. DJU just benefitted from a much better Oregon State OL, running game and head coach. DJU has been all hype and no substance for the majority of his college career.
The three schools that voted against Cal and Stanford are 1-3 and Carolina BEARly beat a crappy Minnesota team.

Miami MIGHT be ready to take the "powerhouse" spot this year. Certainly they were impressive in their first game.
It’s looking like FSU will be beatable, at this rate - trailing BC by fifteen at the end of the third quarter. Their fans have started booing.
Hilarious!

I am trying so hard to not allow myself into thinking FSU is Very beatable.
Note: DJU was a better QB than Cam Ward, last year. So far, this year, those qualities have switched.

Dabo let him go and he relies almost solely on recruits.
Everything working right for BC in the early going. Except the clock. 🤔
