Corey Dyches, Maryland tight end, transfers to Cal
The Cal tight end room has a solid top two.
Cal has landed another transfer for their 2024 recruiting class when Maryland transfer Corey Dyches made his pledge to the Golden Bears this morning.
Cal is going to have a new look at wide receiver, and now the tight end room will also have some upgrades as well. Welcome Corey Dyches to Cal!
Dyches, gained All Big-Ten honors this year for the second consecutive season, and was one of the top pass-catching tight ends in the nation in 2023, totaling 49 receptions — the most among Big Ten tight ends and fourth among FBS tight ends — for 491 yards and two touchdowns. Dyches was one of the top portal receivers available
With this addition, Cal will now have arguably one of the best tight end rooms in the ACC, as both Jack Endries and Dyches can provide more positional flexibility in the lineups the Bears will want to throw out in both the run and in the pass game. With two solid pass catchers who can also block, Cal should have a significant amount of versatility.
Get those yards!
