He was number 7. He was a very good edge player. Seldom beaten outside by opposing sweeps or reverses. Fast pass rusher with a great spin move on the OT blocking him.
David Reese was #7. Fall was #17 and primarily played in the "NASCAR" package on 3rd and 7+ as the weakside edge rusher trying to get up field. He was pretty good at that actually. I don't know how to find Chiekh Fall's snaps played in 2024, but I'd put the O/U at 100, so not a lot of film.
He was a solid player and an inspirational leader during his time at CAL and I wish him nothing but the best wherever his future takes him. And he has a CAL degree! David has the talent to potentially play on Sundays, but his injury history will be tough to overcome for teams looking at him in the draft. I am totally guessing the he wants to maximize his NIL value in the last year of his playing career, especially that he is fortunate to get an 8th year, and he believes he may have better options than at CAL. When it comes to livelihood and a paycheck, you can never hold that against a player. Best of luck to David and thank you for your time as a Golden Bear!
Good for him. My nephew who started as DE for SDSU after transferring from ARC is pretty bummed that he wasn't afforded more eligibility as a result of players challenging NCAA rules on eligibility for JC transfers. Silver lining is that he is now signed with WWE on a NXT contract which has the potential to set him up for life if he is successful.
He's out-colleged Van Wilder at this point. Wish we had him for another year but understand him moving on.
Are we certain that Chiekh Fall is leaving? Could not find google news about him…
He has declared for the NFL Draft via his Instagram.
I've never even heard of him. Looks like he played a little bit this year. Best wishes in the NFL

You mean 17. Surprisingly I don't remember anything about this player.
8 years of eligibility. Wow. Anyway, he earned his degree so I'm proud of him and wish him success at his next step.
And I thought Mike Tepper played a looong time
I thought the portal was closed
Portal does not apply to those who have graduated and are graduate transfer.
Eighth year? That’s like going through undergrad twice. Or did he also get a graduate degree?
I wonder if it took him 7 years to get a degree.
Hmmm...the eight year plan?

I had no idea he still has eligibility
