They need to pack in this MNF game. Never have seen CPR administered on a football field. My best guess based on the extremely limited info we have is that he had some sort of arrhythmia. University of Cincinnati is a very good hospital, a Level 1 trauma center, with a cardiac ICU and a full array of cardiology subspecialties.
If someone wants I can go into more medical depth. But if my impression is right, we may have seen a life saved tonight on the field and, due to their quick action, he may even return to his family to live an essentially normal life.
Both first year coaches at Arizona State (Kenny Dillingham) and Colorado (Deion Sanders) will have better records than Cal in Justin Wilcox’s 7th season.
Behind rare 8-game home slate, ASU will make the Sun Bowl at 6-6.
USC gets the Heismsn trophy winner…UW gets the nation’s leader in passing…Oregon gets a former 4-year SEC starter…Wazzu gets a future NFL Draft pick…U of A gets an efficient downfield passer….
Cal first gets an immobile guy that struggles with accuracy, lost his job in the B1G, and then bolted to the ACC after a mediocre year…and then a dink-and-dunk 22 year old kid that was 4-8 in the Sun Belt.
I wouldn't say it's prevalent here, but there seems to be a bit of an uptick - for all I know that might have been driven by the flu rates, who's to say. I was talking to one of the folks on my new team last week and she said that she's had the 'vid four times, which seems like a lot.
Having so-called "holiday" foods. Gingerbread, eggnog, pumpkin pie, mulled apple cider, stuffing, cranberry sauce are delicious and it's a shame that they're not more available in other seasons.
Made a spicy pork/turkey meatballs in a ratatouille-like stew (eggplant, zucchini, onions, bell pepper, poblano, kohlrabi, garlic, mir poix, pot likker). The family approved.
Saw Jerry and Marge go Large. About people who found a loophole in the Massachusetts lottery. Cute movie, a bit dramatized from real life. Change the competition from MIT to Harvard.
Also saw Senior Moment starring William Shatner. Only for Shatner fans.
Watched a brief piece of the old (1986) Top Gun. I had never actually seen the movie, clips here and there but not the film itself. I got about a quarter through it and turned it off. Having lived by Miramar and having A4's and Phantoms flying down the valley over the Los Penasquitos Estuary as a child and out over the ocean it was a bit familiar. Ended up watching the end of Weekend at Bernie's which was pretty funny.
Weekend at Bernie's beach scenes are all filmed on the North Carolina coast, centered around Bald Head Island. All the sites in that movie are easily recognizable today, except the actual house - which was special built for the movie and then torn down afterwards. That movie was also peak Catherine Mary Stewart (The Last Starfighter, Night of the Comet). Catherine Mary Stewart, Ally Sheedy, Phoebe Cates, and Daphne Zuniga all played hot-brunette girl-next-door that seemed to be quite a popular movie character in the mid-80s.
Some years ago, we got the 1966 Batman on blu-ray; access to watching TV died in the rainstorm on Saturday so we watched a pair of episodes with (13-14) with the Riddler - they were hella funny.
I think Lions still need help due to tiebreakers. But Pack is win-and-in. Either way, I'm really happy to see Goff finally hitting his stride. Just wish it was in LA (given that's my hometown region).
"Looking at the Detroit Lions’ playoff position, their path to the playoff seems pretty simple. With a current three-way tie at 8-8 between the Lions, Seahawks, and Packers for the final spot, the Lions simply need to beat the Packers and have the Seahawks lose or tie to the Rams, that way they finish with a better record than the other two teams."
I just looked up Wikipedia and saw it too. I guess he's been called that since infancy. Yeah I've only seen him called HaHa too, but I vaguely remembered reading his real name before. Maybe it was some article about him.
Mr. Irrelevant to having his jersey sent to the Hall of Fame. Niners beat the Raiders 37-34 in OT despite Davante Adams' heroics and Jerrett Stidham balling in his first career start.
This started some time ago. The decision had been made to back away from DJT. It's just becoming more apparent. No announcements, no statements, no overt tell in advance. Just doing it.
I wonder if he has enough people with the discipline to put together a third party run. I mean I can see him saying "I'm going third party if I don't get the GOP nomination," but that entails a fair bit of work, and the GOP is not short of people who are good at throwing wrenches in other people's campaigns.
Kansas law makers who sponsored bill to put "In God We Trust" on all public buildings in Kansas found guilty of crime related to the 8th, 9th, and 10th Commandments. And by the look of him, he also has committed at least one deadly sin.
Where will Sonny go next if TCU wins the Natty? It's a bit weird that our Cheez-it Bowl opponent in years past has reached an apogee whereas the Bears are treading water at this point in the Wilcox' era. The wandering eye might come into play again.
I'm not sure he's leaving Texas. Texas Tech being the family school maybe, though that's not a step up. Sark is always at risk of imploding so UT could be on the table.
I think he would stay put. He wanted to be a HC in TX, finally got there at a good program, and is having smashing success. UT is kind of a mess and no other school is really a step up.
Still think he’s ticketed for UT when they fire Sark next December after another 8-5 year. He did this with Patterson’s guys, not his own. He was able to keep kids that LOVED TCU.
He won’t be able to land the kids to compete with UGA, Bama, tOSU on his own at TCU…
McCall is staying at Coastal Carolina and leaving the portal.
Kai still not listed on 247 but I've seen a few errors in their database. As far as the OT Spav had at North Texas, it looks like he transferred to Oklahoma State (but isn't listed right).
Iowa beats Kentucky 21-0 in the Music City Bowl - a sickos punt fest. There were fewer than 400 combined yards on offense and 18 combined punts. Iowa went 0-13 on 3rd and 4th down behind their third string QB after their first two maligned QBs entered the portal. Iowa once again had more defensive TDs than offensive.
Watched most of the first half. Turned off the tube when Tulane tied the game at 14 with an 87 yard pass reception for a TD, will watch some of the second half later.

Will probably hear more in a few hours.

Both first year coaches at Arizona State (Kenny Dillingham) and Colorado (Deion Sanders) will have better records than Cal in Justin Wilcox’s 7th season.
Behind rare 8-game home slate, ASU will make the Sun Bowl at 6-6.
Chandler Rogers, a transfer from Louisiana-Monroe, will be Cal's starting QB to start the '23 season.
Does he have a Wikipedia page?
God I hope he’s the backup.

True.

Today in Covid
Relatives I was supposed to have dinner with last night at a restaurant caught Covid they told me just yesterday.
I've noticed that mask wearing is now much more common at the grocery store.
Definitely an uptick in LA with the older folks
Yep, same here in San Diego.
I see a higher percentage of people wearing masks in grocery stores than anywhere else.

Next Sunday is a showdown for the wild card spot between the Goffense and Rodgers' aerial circus to be played in Lambeau. Must see TV.
I'm afraid that'll ultimately be a meaningless game what with Seattle merely needing to beat the hapless Rams.
Ya, Pack wins and in.
Seattle in with win and Pack loss.
Detroit needs help…win at Lambeau AND LAR win over Seattle in PNW.
Pats in with win at Buffalo.
Miami in with win v NYJ and Pats loss.
Pittsburgh in with win over CLE, and losses by MIA and NE.
I think Lions still need help due to tiebreakers. But Pack is win-and-in. Either way, I'm really happy to see Goff finally hitting his stride. Just wish it was in LA (given that's my hometown region).

I think he would stay put. He wanted to be a HC in TX, finally got there at a good program, and is having smashing success. UT is kind of a mess and no other school is really a step up.
I think UT would have a lot of allure for him. Also, having that Manning kid waiting for him and ready to cook would be pretty enticing as well
Still think he’s ticketed for UT when they fire Sark next December after another 8-5 year. He did this with Patterson’s guys, not his own. He was able to keep kids that LOVED TCU.
He won’t be able to land the kids to compete with UGA, Bama, tOSU on his own at TCU…
And now UT boosters will be on board.
My 2 cents.
Rumors were that Sonny was the first choice at UT but the boosters made them take Sark. I feel like Sonny dodged a bullet maybe?
Despite the money at UT there does seem to be something specifically toxic with the boosters.
UT is not the job the boosters think it is…
