The lead photo is quite unsettling. And going to be hard to un-see.

Dear HR Department: I have a bunch of weird photos on my work laptop. These are the ones that are too weird to post on the so-called "DBD", so it's an accumulation of the especially risque and upsetting. It's not what it looks like. I can explain.

Baile Zappe will be the Cleveland Browns' 40th starting QB in 25 years

The most to start for any team in that time frame. Which tells you much of what you need to know about the Browns problem.

I was watching the Sabers' broadcast of that game. Not surprisingly, Sabers' announcer/former goon, Rob Ray, had no problem with the way the refs handled that play.

Yes, I want him.

Yeah, it does raise some questions about his mentality.

That's 30 days, or 2.73 Scaramuccis. There is also precedent for Oregon releasing players from their letters and allowing to sign elsewhere. If that happens, this paves the way for JKS to play for Cal.

Notre Dame beats Georgia 23-10. The Bulldogs were playing without their starting QB, but the second string guy doesn't necessarily shoulder all the blame for the team's loss.

Backup guy actually played fairly well. Dawgs couldn't run the ball. ND defense is legit. Has been since day 1 of the season.

Notre Dame will now never join the ACC for football. They just earned $14m for the victory, but any other winner earns it for their conference.

Expand full comment

There was a reason all along why ND does what they do, and that's it.

Expand full comment

ND also doesn't share football TV revenue with any conference, which is a larger payday.

Expand full comment

Yeah, the real thing they are protecting is the exclusive contract with NBC. As long as they can get that, no reason to join a conference in football (also as long as there is a major conference willing to house their other sports).

Actually they hate the scapegoat but love having one.

It's amazing to think that Notre Dame could win the national title despite a loss to Northern Illinois, a team that lost to Buffalo, Toledo, Ball State and Western Eastern Tech A&M.

Notre Dame lost to NIU. NIU lost to Ball State, which lost to Miami 62-0. We lost to Miami by 1 point. By transitive power, we are more than qualified to be in the CFP.

Which serves only to verify the danger of applying the transitive property recklessly to college sports.

This isn't really weird. It's just that the effects of war on veterans are under-reported, so it seems weird.

What the federal government fails to provide in terms of support to veterans is criminal. Come to think of it, it's probably modeled on healthcare insurance.

This is our government at work...or not.
