10:58 AM Pacific time and only eight comments. We need to do more outreach. DBD's promotion and marketing departments are slagging off something terrible. Are we running any ads at all?

as for Oakland, the night time scene in downtown is pretty fun these days. there are great restaurants and bars.

last time i was in town i went to a Japanese kissa, which is a bar that specializes in playing vintage jazz records. the drinks were pretty fantastic too (Bar Shiru)

and i had dinner just down the street at some fun wine bar (Slug) which sadly seems to have shut down after only one year

Where I was born (Kaiser Hospital), where I work (EBMWU), and where my kids live (one within a few blocks of Lake Merritt; the other somewhere near Montclair).

The building in which I was born, two of my siblings were born, and where my kids were born was torn down a few years ago. It is now open space.
