I guess it's a recommendation from the head coaches and still has to be approved by D1. I think coaches see it as players shut down after 4 games so they can get 1 more year of NIL.
I think Steelers still have the right. Tomlin can not coach, and not get paid but he can't just sign elsewhere unless Pittsburgh backs out of the contract too.
I think their contract runs through two more years. Tomlin resigned, but he can't just sign anywhere unless Pittsburgh backs out of the contract too.
Like if you just resign and other teams can hire him, then why do other teams even pay a huge buyout to hire away head coaches from other teams? The coveted HC can just resign and sign elsewhere if that's the case
Made a chunk of cash, and won a division title. And had a generally positive experience by his own assessment this year, despite how last night went. Doesn't seem like a bad decision at all.
I got tickets for both Dook and UNC using the ticket special the ATO had. Chose Furd as our 3rd ticket, but may have to change that. Found out that we are able to get my friend's cabin at Tahoe that weekend so we may go skiing instead of watching Furd.
i love that K-town is one of the few places open all night in NYC. you can get great BBQ, or a manicure, or sing karaoke at any hour of the day or night.
My recent favorite Korean restaurant is KingChang in Buena Park. I live in OC and never been to K town but Buena Park and Garden Grove have a big Korean community. Anyone from socal have any recommendations?
I haven't been to a restaurant in Ktown in a long time. However, I can recommend Document Coffee Bar. My sister is friends with the owners. It's also an arts space so they sometimes have art from local artists.
to be fair. i think the poll is independent of the post in some strange way. if i change one, i change them all? i am sure i messed it up in my own novice way
Daughter punctured her eardrum when we jumped off a 36 foot cliff into a water filled canyon. So I can confirm medical care is great. Country isn't cheap, but it's nice. It's a lot like going to Hawaii.
Yes I think you need to delete and add in a new Poll for each DBD. Otherwise it's tied to the previous one. I ran into that issue with my first one. I should've let you know.
Other Colleges
FB redshirt changed from 4 games to 9

That's ridiculous. That's 75% of the regular season.
I was thinking it's the opposite trend. Coaches don't have to worry about saving a player's eligibility because players would transfer anyway.
They should just get rid of redshirt years and allow them to play as much as they want for 5 years.
I bet that's what's going to happen. The only redshirt is may medical.
PRO
Mike Tomlin stepped down as Steelers HC
Interesting that he stepped down rather than getting chased out of town. Pretty amazing the Steelers never did worse than 8-8 while he was there.
wow. that does seem like big news.
i always liked his demeanor as coach and person.
He stepped down instead of being fired so other teams would need to trade to get Tomlin
If he steps down is he out of his contract?
I think Steelers still have the right. Tomlin can not coach, and not get paid but he can't just sign elsewhere unless Pittsburgh backs out of the contract too.
Do the Steelers retain Tomlin's services even though he is no longer Head Coach?
I'm not sure I understand your comment.

Houston puts on a defense show. scores more points off Aaron Rodgers than GB offense and almost their own.
one fumble and one INT by Rodgers, each returned for TD.
A-Rod should've retired a couple of years ago.
Instead of going to the Jets, or at the very least when he tore his Achilles.

For him, it wasn't a bad decision. For the fans, it was wasted time or a bad detour.
End of an era. It was fun watching Rodgers do amazing things the last 25 years. Time to say goodbye.
CAL
Dilbert cartoonist Scott Adams dead at the age of 68.
Better to say nothing than to say something uncharitable.
*ahem*
He made some good cartoons back in the day.
He did. I also look back on those cartoons with a different lens now that I know some of his leanings, both personal and political.
My spicy take: readers tend to fill in the blanks. A lot of content exploits that simple fact.
"My spicy take: readers tend to fill in the blanks. A lot of content exploits that simple fact."
Your observation applies to all media, just to be clear, not just Dilbert.
Absolutely. I would be disappointed if that wasn't your takeaway; or anyone else's, for that matter.

Korean things
Rob Hwang. Ask him why Steve's BBQ is his favorite Korean food.
kimchi
I don't like kimchi. It isn't the spice but the fermented flavor. I do like other fermented things so it's limited to kimchi.
even though i like it, i can only really have the not-so-spicy versions.
in general i like fermented cabbage things like saurkraut.

Thanks I will check out if I ever go to k town
Oh I guess I just realized you were asking for recs in OC.
Anything is socal is fine but OC would be closer. But I'm open to all suggestions, anywhere in the world lol
Poll not working
Booo Substack!

and welcome back SGBear. how was Costa Rica?
If you don't like breathtaking scenery, mature tourism logistics, sunshine, and tropical animals - then it's a bad time.

No way could you get me to walk anywhere close to the edge of a 36 foot cliff.

ah got it. i think you did tell me. i just tried to edit the old one because it was right there in front of me and seemed like an easier path!
That's what I did for DBD#2.
not sure what i am doing wrong
For situations like that, just go with the default action of "Punch Twist". Always a good option.
