Don't look now but i am sort of getting the hang of it. i can see how managing the process for a long time would be a burden. however, to get started it is kinda fun.
i have been experimenting w/ writing some apps but not doing any coding myself using Claude. i thought i was being clever when i created this AI app called Fiat Lux designed to make it easy to visualize info in files or images of various sorts.
and THEN just today Claude announces CoWork -- which seems like much the same except better in most ways.
What is Cowork?
Cowork uses the same agentic architecture that powers Claude Code, now accessible within Claude Desktop and without opening the terminal. Instead of responding to prompts one at a time, Claude can take on complex, multi-step tasks and execute them on your behalf.
With Cowork, you can describe an outcome, step away, and come back to finished work—formatted documents, organized files, synthesized research, and more.
An expansion eight years in the making is finally underway at the Cheese Board Collective, the legendary Berkeley eatery. Starting next week, the pizzeria’s accompanying bakery and cheese shop is set to temporarily operate out of a shipping container due to construction. The worker-owned collective began construction in July to expand its cheese shop and bakery at 1504 Shattuck Ave. into 1500 Shattuck Ave., a former grocery store next door, worker-owner Vanessa Vichit-Vadakan told SFGATE.
Hmmm... seems that I read something about this on Instagram soon after New Year's Day through the Cheese Board Collective account. I follow them, so it was in my feed. I know someone who retired from Cheese Board through Little League. His sons played on some of the same teams as my sons.
To give a wee bit of history, some years ago, I found a receipt in my great-grandmother's name for groceries from a grocery store that occupied the space the article is talking about. As I recall, the receipt was from before the Great War (World War I).
"The Great War" is probably more prevalent in Europe. I use it because it doesn't take as much time to type out as The War to End All Wars, which was likely an American invention to sell America on entering the war. After all, President Wilson campaigned for re-election (1916) on the slogan "He Kept Us out of War".
The California women's basketball team (10-8, 1-4 ACC) will look add to its ACC win total when it takes on Syracuse (14-3, 4-2) at the JMA Dome for the first time in program history on Thursday at 3 p.m. PT.
This will be just the third overall meeting between the two teams with Cal having won both of the previous matchups. In last year's 75-69 win at Haas Pavilion, Lulu Twidale knocked down three triples on the way to 13 points in the game.
Cal vs Dook tonight. I think Cal is going to get blown out because Dook is just too athletic. I think Cal struggles against athletic teams. I'd be surprised if we keep it below 15. Looks like the line is 11.5. Same with UNC on Sat.
it is endlessly mysterious to me how prevalent it is to attribute personality traits to your astrological sign. however, it is clearly something that resonates w/ a large segment of the population.
i would think it would be about the same adoption as Tarot cards, palm readings, fortune tellers. but it is WAY more prevalent than that. perhaps because it doesnt require a singular person to tell you a thing. you can just read your daily horoscope in the newspaper.
Jupiter takes about 12 years to complete one orbit around the sun. Ancient Chinese astronomers tracked this and divided the sky into 12 sections based on Jupiter's position each year. That's where the 12-year animal cycle comes from.
The Western zodiac's 12 signs come from dividing the ecliptic (the sun's apparent path) into 12 roughly 30-degree segments, each corresponding to about one month. This also connects to lunar cycles—roughly 12 full moons per year.
Either one can be a cultural self-fulling prophecy--If everyone knows your a Gemini, or a Tiger, then they expect you to act a certain way, and so you do.
agreed. i find the same to be the case w/ those personality tests like Myers-Briggs. to be fair, they are based on some actual responses, but i am sure there are more than 16 types of people in the world!
The Golden State Warriors got a little piece of revenge on the Portland Trail Blazers Tuesday night in a 119-97 blowout victory. No team has been more frustrating for Golden State so far this season, defeating the Warriors three times already. With offensive engine Deni Avdija sidelined, however, the Blazers offense never found a rhythm while the Dubs were scorching hot offensively.
They shot really well. Many were pretty open. Blazers without Avdija are not a good team. Very poor shooting team. In the first quarter they airballed at least three 3s.
DBD Poll works today.

also HAG and I are taking turns setting up the posts and lede photos and polls, one week at a time. so it doesnt feel too hard or time consuming.
we do need some sort of marketing or engagement campaign, otherwise i can just text HAG all day on my own!
i do appreciate other people's perspectives on regular every day things, which is why i am here

that is pretty old. i didnt realize it was called the Great War. i always learned it as The War To End All Wars

I wonder if the Chinese horoscope is any more or less valid?
i just realized that there are 12 of each except one is a 12 month cycle and the other a 12 year cycle. i wonder why?

I don’t follow the Wizards closely, but that’s weird to read because I don’t recall Avdija being much of an impact when he was here.
They shot really well. Many were pretty open. Blazers without Avdija are not a good team. Very poor shooting team. In the first quarter they airballed at least three 3s.
this game started late, 1100p ET, so i didnt even think about watching.
Cal game tonight starts at the same 8 pm Pacific time.
Doesn't China have only one time zone? Should we do that?
yes, it spans almost 6 geographic time zones.
India is also on one time zone but they shift it 30 min so that the effects are evened out a bit.
i wonder what time zone Greenland will be in once we annex/attack it??!!
Hawaii is probably the farthest out timezone wise, so if we unify, they'll be the most mixed up.
Let's start a rumor that the current administration wants to "unify" American into one time zone....
Cal alum golfer Ben An reported to be headed to LIV golf as a team captain. He’s had a solid if not spectacular career.
