I'm surprised that I'm liking luge so much. Was just watching the team relay today. Wow.

The special at the DBD cafeteria today is catfish. They always make a really good Caesar salad. Can't say I care for the gruel.

heyalumnigo's avatar

Remember, no warming up the catfish in the DBD office microwaves.

Wiata78's avatar

Catfish can be pretty good. Just have to not think about it being a bottom feeder.

RIP.

I don't much care for this business of reading obituaries of people younger than me, but it's happening more and more.

Gallup ends its presidential tracking poll, the latest shift in the public opinion landscape

https://www.cnn.com/2026/02/12/politics/gallup-presidential-tracking-poll-approval

Gallup, one of the country’s most well-known polling firms, announced Wednesday that it will no longer track presidential approval or favorability of political figures. The move ends the longest-running continuous effort to track US opinion of the nation’s president, dating back to the tenure of Franklin D. Roosevelt in the late 1930s.

Newellbany's avatar

I wonder what the Gallup Corporation needs from the federal government for them to make this concession.

heyalumnigo's avatar

trump didn't want to see his public opinion go down even further.

I saw some clips of her making some good points about how simply opposing Israel does not mean you are anti-semitic. But as with most right-wingers who take this position it's a quick jump from that over to actual antisemitism.

Newellbany's avatar

yikes. I'm just gonna pretend I didn't know about any of this.

Game 55 wrap: Plucky Warriors run out of steam, Spurs ease away in 4th; All-Star break is finally here!

I was playing basketball so I just periodically checked the score. Saw they were up around 8 from mid 2nd to 3rd. Then saw they were down 10. Guess they got worn out. Spurs probably came out flat due to a B2B.

[MBB] Cal Comes Up Short In Double Overtime At Syracuse

https://calbears.com/news/2026/2/11/mens-basketball-cal-comes-up-short-in-double-overtime-at-syracuse.aspx

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The California men's basketball team and host Syracuse fought through 28 total lead changes in an epic battle that saw the Orange eke out a 107-100 double-overtime victory over the visiting Golden Bears tonight at the JMA Wireless Dome. John Camden scored his 1,000th career point, Milos Ilic recorded his first double-double as a Bear, and Dai Dai Ames registered his 10th 20-point game of the season for Cal, but the hosts would have the final word thanks in part to their 21 free throws taken during OT. Cal goes to 17-8 overall and 5-7 in ACC play with the loss, while Syracuse improves to 14-11, 5-7.

Sorry I couldn't get it done last night. I tried. The drive to Syracuse on I-90 was rough. It started snowing pretty heavily for the last 90 minutes or so, which slowed us down and we had to high-step it up the hill to get into the dome for tip-off. This messed up my pre-game routine.

But these are all excuses. I needed to fan like a champion and I couldn't get it done. Unlike JimmyChitwood at the Clemson game, I accept full responsibility for my failures.

JC catching strays! Love it!

Men lost in two OTs at Syracuse. Women lost in three OTs at Syracuse. F*ck that place.

We'll get it all back in September
