Hijack (Season 2, Apple TV, 18/19). Season 2 of Hijack, this time in the subway. Thought they did a good job of not just rehashing the same hijack on transportation theme. Idris Elba (Scootie alert) did a great job.
I will. Chia pudding with some french vanilla granola and raspberries. A friend of mine said he read chia pudding reduces cholesterol so I'm trying it. my Chia pudding has some honey and french vanilla with Oat milk.
Yes. Two slices of Dave's Bread toast topped with two over medium overeasy eggs, two slices of hella processed Amurikan cheez, fresh ground pepper, and a drizzle of Thai sweet chili sauce. Sounds weird. Tastes delightful.

Ones my kids liked. Since there was a 6 year difference between No 1 and No 2, No 2 didn't watch any of the ones No 1 did. No 1 watched mostly PBS ones in the mid 90s. Things like Bear in the Big Blue House, Big Comfy couch (10 second cleanup), The Puzzle Place. And some of the voices were the same in the 3.
i find this one to be endlessly amusing. it is pretty tough vocab for a kid, so my take is that it is at least 50% for adults too.
i have a hard time deciding on my favorite "car" in the race. if i had to pick it would be the Slag Brothers (Rock and Gravel) in the Boulder Mobile who propel their car forward by bashing each other on the head w/ their cave man clubs.
also, in our family, this show has a special therapeutic effect. one child has had bouts of serious mental health issues (and some continuing ones as well). sometimes they just want to hang out and be together rather than "talk about it."
watching an episode or two of the Wacky Races is primarily the way we spend time in these moments to lighten the mode.
a few nights ago they called me upset and crying from college because they were feeling very overwhelmed. after some amount of consoling and talking we decided to get on a Zoom call and watch an episode together.
it was nice to see them smile and laugh, even if it was just for a moment.
SAN JOSE— The California baseball team saw its 11-game win streak ended by San Jose State on Tuesday falling to the host Spartans 3-2 at Excite Ballpark in San Jose.
With their first loss since February 20 the Golden Bears fell to 13-4 while SJSU improved to 5-11.
This was a frustrating one. Cal looked like the better team hands down, but the thirteen LOB proved insurmountable. Went to the game, pretty nice venue equipped with actual seats; grabbed a nice bowl of pho at Pho Tau Bay before the game.
SAN FRANCISCO – California women's golf junior Constance Fouillet finished a stellar performance at the Juli Inkster Invitational on Tuesday, carding a 3-under-par 213 to tie for the individual title in the two-day tournament at TPC Harding Park. It marked the first career championship for Fouillet, who earlier this season also set the women's record at the Old Course at St. Andrews.
DALY CITY - California freshman Trevor Cox shot a career best nine-under par 207 in the 54-hole two-day Desimone Invitational, ending in a tie for fifth place. This marks his highest finish since placing in 25th at the Preserve Golf Club Collegiate earlier this season. After shooting a career low 6-under 66 in round one, Cox shot 3-under par in the final round.
California men's gymnastics freshman Nathan Underhill was announced as the MPSF Freshman of the Week on Tuesday, picking up his second such award and third overall weekly award this season. Underhill, a native of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, is the first Cal man to earn multiple MPSF Freshman of the Week honors since Theodor Roald Gadderud in 2023, having also won the award on Jan. 27.
DALY CITY - California men's golf shot a 14-under par 562 Monday, ending the day in sixth place overall. The Bears were led by freshman Trevor Cox, who shot a career best 6-under par 66 in the first round, following it up with an even par 72 in the second round to finish the day in ninth place.
The Golden State Warriors have ruled out star guard Stephen Curry for another 10 days with a persistent right knee issue, the team announced Wednesday.
This will stretch Curry's absence at least another five games. He has missed the previous 15 consecutive games for what the team is calling patellofemoral pain syndrome, also known as "runner's knee," which typically consists of swelling and pain around the kneecap.
At this point just shut him down. Also shut down Dray. Although he seems to be playing better last few games. I'd love to see Melton back, but I don't think the Warriors can give him what other teams will.
USA gets stunningly upset by Italy in WBC, falling behind 8-0 before losing 8-6. If Mexico beats Italy and scores four or fewer runs, the USA gets eliminated in pool play.
The San Francisco Giants made the controversial decision this offseason to only mildly shore up their starting pitching. They entered the winter with two holes in their starting five, and they did address those holes with two additions, in the form of Adrian Houser and Tyler Mahle.
Tyler Glasnow continued his march toward pitching in the Dodgers’ opening series, pitching into the fifth inning in a 4-1 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday at Camelback Ranch.
Tirreno-Adriatico has gone up in the relative importance since it is a better hillier tune up for early season stuff. plus it has one of the best winning trophies in sports, a very cool looking trident.
Bam Adebayo scored 83 points, the second-best scoring effort in NBA history, to carry the Miami Heat to a 150-129 win over the Washington Wizards on Tuesday night.
Adebayo had 31 points in the first quarter, 43 by halftime and 62 by the end of the third quarter. He finished 20 for 43 from the field, 36 for 43 from the foul line and 7 for 22 from 3-point range.
Other Colleges
NC State beating Pitt 51-50 at half. I turned it on with about a min left and it was something like 48-45. I thought it was end of the game.

DBD Breakfast .. do you eat breakfast?
I will. Chia pudding with some french vanilla granola and raspberries. A friend of mine said he read chia pudding reduces cholesterol so I'm trying it. my Chia pudding has some honey and french vanilla with Oat milk.
Anything with soluble fiber reduces cholesterol. Seeds, legumes, and oats are good.
With some things like chia, I find a need to break in gradually.
If you start with plain chia seeds, you can also make pets on the side.
Yes. Two slices of Dave's Bread toast topped with two over medium overeasy eggs, two slices of hella processed Amurikan cheez, fresh ground pepper, and a drizzle of Thai sweet chili sauce. Sounds weird. Tastes delightful.
Actually sounds good.
in NYC early this morning and got pastrami egg and cheese on a bagel since happened to park next to a good looking bagel shop.
700a MRI on my knee which meant i left the house around 600a. luckily it is mostly smooth into NYC at that hour and easy to find street parking.
Stone ground outs, dried goji berries, cacao nibs, cinnamon and nutmeg. Makes for a tasty and healthy oatmeal.
Every morning. This morning was pancakes and coffee.
Cartoons
My favorite was Bugs Bunny, followed by pre-Scrappy Scooby Doo.
agreed. Scrappy messed up the show.
He was the Cousin Oliver of cartoons
Bugs Bunny and Road Runner were my favorites.
Also, not to be forgotten - The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show.

Rocky and Bullwinkle. I was only a moderate fan as a youngster, but it’s really grown on me.
Eg, Wottsamatta U(niversity) decides to boost their football budget by firing all the English professors. This allows them to recruit Bullwinkle.
I don't know why more Universities haven't tried this.
Speed Racer, kind of in a category of its own in my mind. For chuckles, enjoyed Bugs, F’horn L’horn, Snagglepuss and, later, Ren and Stimpy.
indeed Speed Racer was not your average one. almost had a Japanese animation quality to it.
Well, it should since it was Japanese ;-)
I recall it being paired with Kimba the White Lion (also Japanese) on KBHK.
My (and prob most of our generation’s) introduction to anime. Which I never got into beyond these “kid” shows.
Almost entirely forgot about Speed Racer. That was the afternoon cartoon when I was in grade school on KBHK, Ch. 44.
I SAY, I SAY, SON! WHATCHOO DOIN' WITH THAT HAMMER?

36-of-43 from the foul line!!
how to do you foul a guy that many times? on the other hand, if everything is going in, maybe you do foul him ...
No 2 said that the Heat were purposely fouling the Wizards so they could get the ball back and feed Bam.
well that's clever i guess
