Pogacar wins Milan-San Remo for the first, and maybe the last time.
lots of drama as Pogacar crashed before the final 2 hills, caught back up, attacked and only one person was able to follow (Tom Pidcock). Pogacar wins in a 2-up sprint finish.
says that if he comes back to San Remo, it will be to eat focaccia, not race.
Pogacar has won 4 or 5 monuments. Paris-Roubaix in a few weeks. called the "hell of the North" due to the long stretches of cobblestones.
First time at Garden last night for a Celtics game. T'wolves pull away in 4th quarter without Edwards for the win.
Tatum struggled in first half, no points, played well in 3rd, barely played in 4th until he game got away from the Celtics.
Lots of MVP chants for Jaylen Brown everytime he was at FT line.
The crowd was pretty good. even when they were down 12-14 if Boston scored a 3, the crowd was into it and trying to root on a 4th q comeback. never happened though.
Yahoo.com appears to be bucking the widely reported cause of Ken Stabler's death (stage 4 colorectal cancer) by claiming he committed suicide.
It was also widely reported that Stabler had stage 3 CTE. He had donated his brain for CTE research. Maybe Yahoo.com simply conflated the CTE post-mortem diagnosis with suicide.
The Trump Touch - a form of enshittification where the circumstances are degraded so badly, that it is ultimately without value to the person who tried to leverage value or political advantage for their own benefit.
Friday was easy for a Friday. Saturday was not bad at all. Sunday took me forever, however, but I grinded it out to keep the streak alive (64!). Today was really fast for me - 6:51. That's probably a top-ten time for me, all time.
Since Japanese films are mentioned above I'll do everyone a solid and list my five favorite movies from that country. Ikiru, Sansho the Bailiff, Burmese Harp, Fire on the Plains and Drive My Car.
Pretty much the whole Akira Kurosawa filmography is golden.
Would say similar things about Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli.
One that was really good from the last few years was Perfect Days. Directed by Wim Wenders (who is German), but it's all in Japanese with Japanese actors.
i am not sure how i discovered this one when the kids were young. it was the perfect age, since our two were approx the same age as the two kids in the movie.
• LaGuardia collision: New York’s LaGuardia Airport is closed after an Air Canada plane collided with a fire truck while landing Sunday night. The pilot and copilot were killed, a law enforcement official said.
• Major airport closed: New York City’s second-biggest airport will be closed at least until 2 p.m. ET, adding to nationwide travel turmoil tied to the partial government shutdown. You can follow CNN’s live coverage of the nation’s travel woes here.
• Dozens hurt in high-speed impact: The jet collided with the Port Authority fire truck on a runway at 104 miles per hour, preliminary analysis indicates. Forty-one passengers and crew were taken to the hospital, initial reports indicate, and 32 have been released, the Port Authority said.

Cal
GO BEARS!
Last night as the California women advanced in the WBIT, Lulu Twidale set Golden Bear records for threes in a season and in a career. Cal hosts Columbia on Thursday at 7:00 with a place in the semi finals on the line. https://calbears.com/news/2026/3/22/womens-basketball-cal-handles-kansas-state-advances-to-wbit-quarterfinals.aspx
I guess because she's not on the men's team nobody cares.
Ugh.
Ugh is right
If I had a nickel for every time my wife and I have acted out this scene as I crawl into bed after a late Cal game:
Dr. Ms. Newellbany: Did Cal win?
Me: They blew a 19 point lead to lose in the final minute.
Dr. Ms. Newellbany: Oh, honey...
Me: (Sigh) This is my lot in life.
indeed. that happens to me w/ some regularity.
