one kind of diversity i dont like is - mixing different ethnic foods in one meal.

this is invariably a cause for a stomach ache or worse.

i am not die-hard about wine region and ethnic food, but the best meals i have had match them up very nicely.

I have done indoor skydiving, and had to go to the ER afterward. Old man joints apparently.

Family member has lifelong paralysis and health issues from their chute not opening, backup chute then partially tore upon deployment. Lucky to hit a sandy vs hard ground, lived, but massive recovery time and total life direction/quality change. I also know someone who was hit by a bus- bus outcome much better.

not that i actually know why. it seems strange that it would be so dangerous.

plenty of other seemingly dangerous things like heli-skiing or expeditions to climb Mt Rainer or Denali have a near-zero casualty rate.

i wonder why it is so particularly prone to faliure

A’s offense goes silent and defense melts down in 9-0 degrading loss

https://www.athleticsnation.com/2024/4/1/24118663/as-offense-goes-silent-and-defense-melts-down-in-9-0-degrading-loss

The A’s have done something no MLB team has done since 1906: they’ve tallied the most errors possible through a team's first five games with 13 total. Errors had been a concern heading into 2024 and through the first four games against the Cleveland Guardians, but the A’s reached an all-time low on Monday with five total against the Boston Red Sox.

The San Francisco Giants lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers tonight, 8-3.

I know that the outcome of this game was drastically different, but I couldn’t help but have a strong sense of deja vu throughout the night as I was reminded strongly of Saturday night’s game.

LOS ANGELES — The Big Three get the bulk of attention when it comes to the Dodgers offense, but the lineup depth has been quite productive two days in a row as well. Teoscar Hernández broke Monday’s game open with a three-run home run in the sixth inning, highlighting the Dodgers’ 8-3 win over the Giants in the opener of a three-game series at Dodger Stadium.
