Philly Eagles allowed to continue doing the Brotherly Shove until May

The Brotherly Shove is a callback to football's rugby roots. It's also perfectly acceptable from a football perspective as it rewards a stalwart O-line and the teamwork necessary to execute.

Also, not sure why a QB sneak is acceptable when the Brotherly Shove somehow isn't.

Bottom line: other teams haven't made the investment in their personnel to execute or defend against it.

The Golden State Warriors are at the point in the NBA season — and the place in the standings — where every day can change the playoff seedings. And that was triple true on Tuesday night, as they paid a visit to their old friends the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Warriors are now sitting in the 5 seed in the West. If standings hold, that would mean a first-round matchup with the Lakers, which would be wild.

Nikola Jokić checked into the game at the 6:38 mark of the second quarter...

He never checked out again.

Including both OTs, that's 40:38 of game time without going to the bench.

He played 52:38 out of 58 possible minutes

In general, you don’t win a baseball game when your team only gets four hits. That is, unless Logan Webb is on the mound and Heliot Ramos is continuing his power surge.

The Athletics dropped their second straight game against the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday night, losing 7-4 and dropping the team’s record to 2-4 on the young season.

Right-hander Luis Severino got the ball for his second start of the season. He was fantastic his first time wearing the Green & Gold but he didn’t have his best stuff tonight. Chicago hit him hard and fast, scoring three runs off Sevy in the first inning off a 3-run bomb from Seiya Suzuki.

Val Kilmer has died from pneumonia at the age of 65, but he was weakened by his battle with throat cancer. He completely stole scenes in Tombstone despite sharing the screen with Kurt Russell, Billy Bob Thornton, Michael Biehn, Powers Boothe, Bill Paxton, Billy Zane, and Sam Elliott.

His portrayal of Jim Morrison "The Doors" didn't get an Oscar nomination, but Kevin Costner did for Dances with Wolves. Then again, Whoopi Goldberg won an Oscar that year too for Ghost.

But by then another, perhaps more interesting, strain of Mr. Kilmer’s career had developed. Mr. Scott cast him in his first big-budget film, “Top Gun” (1986), the testosterone-fueled adventure drama about Navy fighter pilots in training, in which Mr. Kilmer played the cool, cocky rival to the film’s star, Tom Cruise. It was a role that set a precedent for several of Mr. Kilmer’s other prominent appearances as a co-star or a member of a starry ensemble. (He reprised it in a brief cameo in the film’s 2022 sequel, “Top Gun: Maverick,” also starring Mr. Cruise.)
