not sure i know any other songs by them. this one seems to be a nearly universal favorite.
my fun connection to this song is that it is semi-frequently played during SoulCycle classes. my favorite instructor encourages us to "scream-sing along" to the song. it is a really fun moment when 30+ strangers in a dark room on stationary bikes are scream-singing along to the same song.
They were an SF band that formed when we were at UC Berkeley. Lead singer Linda Perry ended up writing and producing song for other people including "Beautiful" by Christina Aguilera, "What You Waiting For" by Gwen Stefani, and "Get the Party Started" by Pink. She also married Sara Gilbert of Roseanne fame and then later legally separated after having a kid together. Sara Gilbert's parents adopted two kids on top of their other three - those two adopted being Melissa and Jonathan Gilbert from Little House on the Prairie.
i have seen almost every episode of Little House on the Prairie. my sister and i were each allowed to pick one show. i watched Star Trek mostly and snuck in an extra hour of TV watching Little House.
Now that the weather is nice, I've been doing about 60-80 miles per week on the bike (mostly gravel and trails). I've been neglecting strength training, though, so I recently started doing more upper body exercises to balance out all the cycling.
I try to go 4 days a week, supplemented by playing BB once or twice a week. I'm mainly just trying to strengthen my achilles and right leg. So I start with some elliptical to warm up, then I stretch my achilles, do various things like a couple of ladder type drills (not as much as I used to), walk on my tippy toes, hop, lift myself up on my right foot, a couple of things with bands, lunges, leg presses, balance on the Bosu half ball/platform and also do squats with a kettle ball on them. Most of the things I do were part of my PT.
The one thing I still haven't really done much is run. Not because my leg can't handle it, but because I hate running and am lazy. But I do need to start doing it otherwise I'll keep dying playing BB.
I go to the gym every other day. Stretches, planks, push ups, weights and stair master. Also get in a lot of walking. Staying in shape for Saturdays at Memorial Stadium.
So true when you only have one thing to worry about. For me it’s a run every morning. It’s just part of the daily routine without thinking. Also do some occasional stretching/yoga or light weights, but very occasional.
Springer Mountain (GA) to Mount Katahdin (ME). I understand that most folks who make the trek do it going from GA to ME. A small group go from ME to GA.
i think it has to do w/ the getting started earlier in the year in GA, when there is still probably snow in ME.
they are also trying to encourage creative scheduling like start at the halfway point, go to one end, and then fly down to the other end to finish the rest.
i have hiked some small stretches of the AT. less than 50 miles total, probably. the best part was probably over Camels Hump in VT or Mt Washington in NH

Pia Halbig - she was elected to the Cal Athletics Hall of Fame yesterday.
One of the most decorated women golfers ever at Cal, Halbig owns the lowest career scoring average in program history (73.89). She is a two-time All-American who also owns the lowest 54-hole tournament score in program history (13-under), which she recorded in 2010. Halbig led Cal to four straight NCAA Regional berths, including the NCAA finals in 2011. A Dinah Shore Trophy winner, the Pac-10 Scholar-Athlete of the Year and a two-time WGCA All-American Scholar, Halbig also owns the highest individual ranking ever by a Cal golfer (No. 6 in 2010).

I’ve only been in that neighborhood a couple times, but if the new stadium is to be built next door, what infrastructure improvements are needed that cost $300 million?
The shamelessness in asking for $2b in public monies, though. Governor Pritzker is right in being skeptical. That's $2b that could be used for more pressing priorities like education, infrastructure, housing, medical care, and on and on.

too bad about the dome. i like that the NYC one has no dome. when they were building it they were even explicit about it being part of the home field advantage.
TJ Bollers commits to Cal. He was an OLB and then moved to DE in a 3-3-5 scheme at Wiscy. He moves to Cal's hybrid 3-4 where he will be DE. He slipped to 3rd string before he left and is perhaps one of the reasons why he wanted out at Wiscy because he felt he was in the wrong scheme, maybe?
TE Marquise Montgomery in the portal. His farewell post is a tiny bit salty. It's my opinion that anyone entering the portal in the spring portal season are either a) NIL seekers, b) delusional backups, c) medical retirements, or d) the scholarship cuts.
Apropos: Martin Tine is the portal. Aguilar used to be the 2nd string RT. Tine was the third stringer despite being a fifth year. This suggests that new RS-So inbound transfer Braden Miller from Michigan State (Barrett Miller's little brother) is a right tackle.

DBD working out
Since babby came I don't work out nearly as much yet for some reason my standing core strength has improved.
Now that the weather is nice, I've been doing about 60-80 miles per week on the bike (mostly gravel and trails). I've been neglecting strength training, though, so I recently started doing more upper body exercises to balance out all the cycling.

I have fallen off the wagon. A body at rest stays at rest.
current working out is overlaps too much to make it sustainable
- ideally 3 days a week playing tennis (i only really do 2 currenty)
- ideally riding indoor bike 4-5 days a week
- ideally some weight training 3-4 days a week
the problem is there are not enough days and even w/ doubling up sometimes it doesnt fit, and it is hard to find the time and motivation.
it was easier when there was only the riding to worry about. and the other hassle is that i have gained 10 lbs and as heavy as i have ever been.
w/o burning all those calories from long bike rides, i probably need to drink less (not very hard to figure out i know)
So true when you only have one thing to worry about. For me it’s a run every morning. It’s just part of the daily routine without thinking. Also do some occasional stretching/yoga or light weights, but very occasional.

Head scratcher. Are you sure that Camel's Hump is on the AT? I thought it was on the LT after it split from the AT.
i thought similar but i checked the internet before saying so. i would have said the exact same.

Good question. Makes you wonder about a similar amount (314 MM?) being offered for the lamented Howard Terminal project in Oakland.
