Bob Kraft's/Patriots airplane flew to Guantanamo Bay. The Pats denied that its plane is used for non-team purposes. Riiiiiiiiiiiiight. Sure. Just some normal off-season team gulag visiting.
The A’s were locked in a pitching duel for the majority of Wednesday night’s contest against the Rangers. This game seemed destined for extra innings but a massive ninth inning saw six A’s runs cross home plate, breaking this game open and helping the A’s win their second of three against Texas with the series finale set for tomorrow afternoon.
It was “Bark in the Park” on Wednesday at PetCo Park, where the San Francisco Giants were dogged by their inability to get hits, retrieve a ball successfully, and handle their sticks in a 5-3 loss to the San Diego Padres. It was a two-game sweep where the Padres were all very good boys.
The Dodgers offense flourished yet again, scoring double-digit runs on their way to a 12-7 win, but the performance of Tony Gonsolin is the highlight of this affair, with the Cat Man looking as sharp as ever. For someone who hasn’t pitched in the majors since August 2023, the rust seemed nearly nonexistent for Gonsolin.
Warriors barely put up a fight. lose game 5. at least they get a chance to win the series at home tomorrow.
Lakers lose and are out of playoffs. i didnt think they would lose at home but they sort of faded down the stretch. Luka played pretty well despite being under the weather or something.
While the Lakers had just split a pair of games to open the NBA playoffs against the Wolves, they felt confident going to Minnesota, knowing just one victory would give them back home-court advantage.
The Golden State Warriors technically showed up for Game 5 against the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night, but they played like a team that was waiting for Game 6. While the Rockets played like a team that was one loss away from elimination, the Dubs looked like a tired, older, and slower team that lacked much urgency. That combination is how the Rockets coasted to a 131-116 blowout where the Warriors pulled their starters halfway through the third quarter.
Before the game I saw that Kuminga was out sick. This would've been the perfect game for him. At the gym I saw some of the 4th and saw that the backups got it down to about 11 from almost 30.
The Dubs were down by 27 at halftime. I think that Kerr recognized quickly that to mount a successful comeback in the 2nd half was a longshot against the Rockets. Hence, sit the starters.
Having them fresh for Friday is much more important.
SAN JOSE – San Jose State (22-23) scored seven runs in the bottom of the second inning and picked up six more in its half of the fifth on the way to a 14-5 victory over the California baseball team (18-27) in nonconference game at Excite Ballpark on Wednesday evening.
The 21st-ranked California women's tennis team begins its 42nd NCAA Championship campaign in Seattle, where the Golden Bears (13-8) face 75th-ranked Sacramento State (21-3) in the first round Friday at 11 a.m. at the University of Washington. Friday's other first-round match pits the 18th-ranked Huskies (20-4) against 74th-ranked Stetson (18-4) at 2 p.m. PT. Friday's winners meet in the second round Saturday at 1 p.m. PT for the right to advance to the NCAA Super Regionals, scheduled for May 9-11 at campus sites.
The No. 2 California men's rowing team will face off against No. 6 Stanford in the 91st edition of the Big Row on Saturday at Redwood Shores in Redwood City. The teams will be racing for the Schwabacher Cup given to the winner of the varsity eight race.
As I got ready for bed last night I turned on the tv to see what games were going on. I went by the BIG channel and it was showing the Cal-Washington rowing from last weekend. Unfortunately they were in the middle of the last race so I didn’t get to see much.

BERKELEY – Nolan Dorsey has signed to play for the California men's basketball program in the 2025-26 season. The accolades continue to roll in for the Golden Bears' court-one pair, which was named to the inaugural MPSF All-Tournament team Monday.
BERKELEY – California will make its third consecutive NCAA Men's Golf Regional appearance and 26th in program history as it earned an at-large bid to the 2025 Reno (Nevada) Regional on Wednesday. I had a brief moment of Real ID panic yesterday. May 1 is the deadline to file Virginia income tax. The form asks for your license number and issue date. When I looked at my id I thought the expiration date said 2004 in the small print. When I checked later after finishing my return I saw the expiration is actually 2006 so I’m safe for now.
I'm not going to make an inane remark about the expiration date of your Real ID. But I am going to ask about the use of license number as an identifier on your Virginia tax return: does this mean that you don't use SSN as an identifier?
The old RFK Stadium had a couple sections in the lower bowl that bounced like that. I wonder when/if they build the new stadium on the old site they will re-create those sections. At the announcement of a new stadium agreement the other day they certainly had a bunch of old players from that era there.

I think Ca also requires a CDL when doing e-file. I think Turbotax asks for it.

Serious question: Why don't we have bidets in the U.S.? I mean pretty much in every home?
Because Americans (as a group) are messed up about anything below the belt line and above the knees. Puritan morality definitely has a hand in this.
We bought bidet attachments for our toilets about 3 years ago, I think. Vast improvement over just TP alone. And we use less TP.
Case in point regarding Americans and, as you say, anything below the belt, Americans go to the restroom or bathroom, Brits go to the toilet.
Yup, language is an indicator of attitude/morality.
we have the Toto bidet attachments as well. the kids have a slightly less exciting one w/o a remote.
and we definitely use a lot less TP, which was the primary incentive to start.
