UC Prez Drake recommends Calimony of $10M for 6 years. Regents still have to decide.
The B1G media deal ends in 2030 so that's probably why he suggested it. Our ACC share jumps from 30% to 70% in 2031 so we will be $10M short for a year. (Please correct me if I'm wrong.)
I'm out of town starting tomorrow for a little more than a week. I've scheduled daily posts, but probably won't be in a position to seed the DBD with topics on some days - so don't wait for me to do it.
There was a cooking tip I got from Bobby Flay. He talked about adding dry chicken bouillon to chicken breasts to make them taste more chickeny. I'm not a fan of that actual tip and didn't follow it, but it did inspire me to explore how to boost meat flavor beyond browning the meat.
Factory farming has really taken a lot of the flavor out of meats because they grow so fast, which is evident when I go buy meat at the farmers market that has extremely flavorful meats. I generally don't buy farmers market meat because of cost. "Better than Bouillon" is easily the best bouillon on the market. I have four jars - veggie, chicken, beef, and ham - open in my fridge. Any dish that that is liquid or is based on a meat mince or chunks gets some bouillon in it. It normalizes the meat flavor levels in a dish. Chili is no longer tomato with beef-textured flesh; it actually tastes like beef. Chicken stir-fry tastes like chicken rather than having bland flesh cubes in it.
And I also took a page out of fine dining cooking with jus. I will take stock and reduce it down by 95%. You get absolute meat-bomb flavor without all the fat. Its not hard to make nor is it expensive because it uses scraps, but does take a long time. I've got 1 cup tupperwares of concentrated ham, turkey, shrimp, fish, beef, dashi, and chicken in a deep freezer ready to be defrosted and sex up a dish.
The owners of the new Utah hockey team (the one transplanted from Phoenix) asked for fan suggestions for mascots. Frankly, they all kind of suck. Go with Bees and be done with it.
[WGOLF] Cal finishes 7th, a bit lower than their 4th seeding in NCAA regionals. This is not good enough to advance. Nancy McDaniels goes off to retirement after being WGolf's coach for the past 29 seasons.

Anyone watching Sugar on Apple TV? Colin Farrell, Amy Ryan and James Cromwell.
Watched the first episode, I really liked it - not just that it's an interesting start but it's well made by people who care
I’m caught up and am enjoying it…but I am literally the only person I know who is watching it and thus have no one to discuss it with!
I’m doing more reading than watching these days, but this is inspiration to start. Altho I’ve also been in “wait til I can binge” mode
And, I realize, watching the “limited time” movies on ATV+ instead of the new shows.
Glad to see that Acapulco is back.
