It's going to be a bit slow from me. I'm taking 13 credit hours of classes and it's keeping me busy. It's only junior college, but I do want to give it a good effort to learn something. I'm taking Critical Thinking, Interpersonal Psychology, Human Resources for Hospitality, and Nutrition for Hospitality.
NYTime reports Hard Knocks pulled because Belichick's 24-year old girlfriend wanted full content control and producer ownership concessions. Also, article also cites source saying the pair are engaged.
Another day, another loss. The Athletics fell for the sixth time in six days, beginning their home stand with a close 4-3 loss to the Los Angeles Angels on a beautiful Monday night in Sacramento.
Rookie JT Ginn got the assignment for tonight’s contest. Making his fourth start of the season and first since getting activated off the IL, Ginn got tagged in his first inning of work, allowing a solo home run to the second batter of the game Nolan Schanuel. That was the young first baseman’s third home run of the year so it wasn’t an encouraging start to the game for Ginn.
Well, it finally happened. In his 10th start of the year, Robbie Ray finally pitched in a game that the San Francisco Giants lost. And, seemingly just because baseball loves to remind you how silly it can be, it just so happened that the Ray start the Giants finally lost was ... well ... his best start of the year.
The current Dodgers homestand was set up to be a respite, a way to recharge in familiar environs after playing 10 games on the road. Instead, the last seven days at Dodger Stadium have shone light on various flaws and shortcomings of a team playing bad baseball. The Diamondbacks pasted the Dodgers 9-5 on Monday night in a game that was ugly from the jump.
_____s, Marcus gained 734 on the ground and had 232 receiving yards for Cal in 1998, with 6 touchdowns that year! Injury sidelined him his senior year, and he never regained his prominent role for the Bears.
His injury opened the door for a RB contest between Joe Eschema and Joe Igber. Igber won and was far better than an injured Fields. While Igber wasn't super fast, he was a bowling ball that was tough to tackle and had great body control. And his signature hop up and skip about was fun to watch.
A year after going 1-10 under Holmoe, Teford hanging 70 on Baylor, beating #15 Michigan State on the road to become ranked four games into the season, beating #12 Washington in Husky Stadium, barely losing to #16 Wazzu and #20 USC, beating #25 ASU on the road and taking home a Big Game victory was as sweet a first season as you can expect.
I was at this game. Civil Engineer Igber hung out in the stands after the game and I think Boller got lifted up on shoulders. The S goalposts came down and carried down Telegraph if I remember.
Love them. I have the Mrs Field's recipe that according to lore was purchased and there was a disagreement on the price. The recipe is really good and the cookies do taste a lot like Mrs Fields. I'll post here if there is interest.
i have not been to any of the Canadian territories. seems like it would be quite an adventure. spending time in northern Manitoba certainly gave me a nice taste for it.
i have been to all the provinces except PEI and N&L. there is some remote national park in N&L that looks cool. they make you take an outdoor route finding test before they let you into the wilderness.
Q. Is there a navigation test for the Long Range Traverse?
A. No, there isn’t a navigation test. In the past, hikers were required to pass a serious navigation test before getting a permit. Today, there’s a mandatory orientation designed to ensure hikers know what they’re getting into.

____s Medal for math. I thought I remembered it from Good Will Hunting but looked it up to make sure I was correct and also see if it’s a real thing.
One Fields winner was Stephen Smale, who taught my Math 51C class.
yes, the "Nobel Prize of Math" since there isnt an actual Nobel for it.
interestingly, you have to be under 40 to win.
also, it is given every 4 years and to approx 2-4 people
_____ of Dreams
A film that Mrs Slug and I will watch at least once a year. Speaking of baseball movies, The Natural is also in this rotation.
Love the Natural. Probably my favorite baseball movie. Major League being a close second and Bull Durham/Field of Dreams being a close 3rd
Great movie. Lots to like about the story, the actors, and the way it's presented.

Wanna watch Joe Igber chew up Stanfurd for 226 yards and only 1 score in the 30-7 Big Game win, Tedford first Big Game win in his inaugural season.

Was it the South goalposts? For some reason I thought it was the North goalposts.
I thought it was the south. But maybe I've forgotten.

Mrs __'s Cookies
as with many things, these were SO GOOD when they first opened and while it was still somewhat locally made (Palo Alto).
i remember that getting a cookie at Sun Valley Mall was a major childhood treat.

I HATE DELICIOUS FRESH COOKIES
HERE IS THE RECIPE SO YOU CAN DECIDE IF YOU HATE FRESH COOKIES!!
I usually make half the recipe. Maybe I'll bring some to the BC game along with Top Dogs.
Cream together: 2 cups butter
2 cups sugar
2 cups brown sugar
Add: 4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
Mix together in
separate bowl: 4 cups flour
5 cups oatmeal (put small
amounts of oatmeal in blender until it turns to
powder. Measure out 5 cups of oatmeal and only
"powderize" that, NOT 5 cups "powderized" oatmeal)
1 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp baking soda
Mix: All of the above
Add: 24 oz. bag of chocolate chips and
1 finely grated 8 oz Hershey bar (plain)
Add: 3 cups chopped nuts (any kind)
Bake on greased cookie sheet (make golf ball sized balls) and
bake about two inches apart. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 - 10
minutes. DO NOT OVERBAKE. Makes 112.
Chips Ahoy is much better
