John Tyler was the 10th President of the US. When he was President, there were 13 states.

His grandson just passed away.

Who is the second most interesting Cal football player? Behind Marshawn, obviously.

Joe Kapp (strictly as a player). More recently, Chuck Muncie. Much more recently DeSean Jackson.

A’s Pummeled By Blue Jays 12-0

https://www.athleticsnation.com/2025/5/29/24439777/as-pummeled-by-blue-jays-12-0

The bad times continue. Making their one and only trip to Canada this season the Athletics got beat hard, getting smacked in the mouth by the Blue Jays 12-0 in the first of four games in Toronto.

Starting the game for the A’s tonight was rookie left-hander Jacob Lopez. Making just his third start of the season and fifth of his career, Lopez came into this game looking to earn another turn through the rotation. The game started innocently enough for him as he had a perfect 1-2-3 first inning, but bad things were coming.

[WROW] No. 12 Cal Set For NCAA Championships

https://calbears.com/news/2025/5/29/womens-rowing-no-12-cal-set-for-ncaa-championships.aspx

The No. 12 California women's rowing team is set to compete in its 26th straight NCAA Championships from Friday through Sunday at Mercer Lake in West Windsor, New Jersey. The 25 previous NCAA Championship appearances are the fifth most of any team in the country as the Golden Bears have only missed out twice with the regatta first taking place in 1997.

The Bears have won four national titles, which rank third in the NCAA – with two coming under current head coach Al Acosta (2016 and 2018) and Cal also winning championships in 2006 and 2005. Cal has 14 top-3 finishes at the NCAA Championships, which rank second in the country behind Brown.

I have a dumb question. This is Texas Southern's roster. They have guys listed positions as "TI" and none of them are over 200 pounds. What's TI? I've never heard of it. https://tsusports.com/sports/football/roster

Here is Texas Southern's opener against Bethune-Cookman. If we don't have second stringers in by the 2nd quarter, something is wrong. The personnel quality difference between P4 and low-FCS is striking. We should hang at least 60 points on them, some via defense.

I think it depends on if Womens SB has the MLB rule for blocking the plate. The throw didn't take her into the baseline so she would need to leave a lane for the runner to tag the plate. She doesn't and the throw didn't take her into the baseline.

A fellow season ticket holder I'm acquainted with told me that he was going to miss the football home opener because of a wedding. "I don't really want to go but I have to," he said. I don't understand this. I make it a policy never to attend weddings out of a sense of obligation going only if I desire going. In sending invites to our wedding the missus and I made a point to send invitations to people who we felt would actually want to celebrate our nuptials.

Side note: who would want to attend the wedding of someone thoughtless enough together married on the day of a Cal football home game?

Every wedding/reception that I've ever attended on a Saturday in autumn ALWAYS has guys with their phone. streaming a game and then a mini-eruption of whoopin' and hollerin' if the Bears score/win. It is a traditional as treasured as something old/new/blue (I mean, it used to be little handheld radio sets before cell phones).
