Today, my baby graduates HS today. Next week, I will be an empty nester. I previously wondered if I was one of those parents who cry at the prospect or the kind who is excited by the freedom. As it turns out, I'm a crier.
enjoy it while it lasts. up to some age they want to get read to and tucked in every night. then one magical day they stop asking and they never ask again.
[CNN] CNN is now saying that the Trump document in the audio recording was the Iran First-Strike plan summary. The plan reportedly had all the weaknesses of Iran and how to attack them.
I'll go ahead and project forward to the fact that Kushner and Trump received about $2.5b in investments and bailouts from Sunni-backed countries like Qatar, UAE, and Saudi Arabia.
Saw Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse last night. Absolutely visually stunning, thoroughly hilarious, and featuring a great story too. Be advised it's a Part 1. 18/19 definitely WBA
Watched the first 2 episodes of American Born Chinese. Modern story of the Monkey King adjacent. Not bad so far. Stars include Ke Huy Quan, Michelle Yeoh, Daniel Wu. (13/19 Disney+)
Happy birthday to Cal grad, Jerry Mathers who is 75 today. I understand that the former Leave it to Beaver star used to frequent Kip's in his undergrad days which would have been in the late sixties. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerry_Mathers
When MC Hammer started a social network site in the Valley back in the mid 2000's and was looking for VC funding the Tech Crunch crowd said "You can't fund this!"
Oh man, I HATED an upstairs tenant when I was in college who played the same song loudly eleven times in a row! Dumped 5 gallons of dirty water on her when she finally left the building.
I was rewatching some of his fight tapes. Lots of his fights were against cupcakes. However, he fought against some really good fighters and still absolutely destroyed them. He was top notch in defense, taking a punch, quickness, power, and a body-hook/uppercut combination that was fight-ending vicious.
She was my academic advisor at Haas undergrad. Laser sharp, nice, and I had all of like 15 minutes with her. After that, she became the Economic advisor to Clinton. @I liked to think that I was a critical stepping stone in advancing her career@.
Rick James did actually co-write U-Can't Touch This, won a Grammy for it, loved weed, was accused of rape, and spent some time in jajl. Tyson only did the last three.
Rick James' "Superfreak" was my party anthem at Cal. This, plus Aloha shirts, were the bat signals that alcohol was going to be consumed. One would be sitting at a cafe or at a library and some friends would show up wearing the shirts and carrying a boombox. Nature's law dictate that you had to drop everything and go party.
"Give it to me Baby" was one of my go-to karaoke songs for a while, when enough alcohol had been consumed. Purely self-serving, as most in the crowd aren't as familiar with this one, but its my fave Rick James song.
In case anyone hasn't seen "Mike Judge Presents: Tales from the Tour Bus".. it's amazing stuff. The Rick James episode is good. (All episodes are good, some are fantastic.. James Brown --> Bootsy Collins is must watch, and the George Jones two-part episodes are the piece de resistance).
BERKELEY – The California women's water polo team placed three players on this year's ACWPC All-America Team, led by first-team selection Cecily Turner, the ACWPC announced Thursday.
Senior goalkeeper Isabel Williams and junior Ruby Swadling were named to the second team and third team, respectively, with both earning their second consecutive All-America nods.

My youngest turned 7 on Wednesday - I feel like she was just born! It’s like my mom says - it’s potty training, then college…

You never know - my daughters asked me to read to them last night for old time's sake.
Wow, it's been since both of them were 6 - and I turned my daughter down when she wanted "The Hobbit" for a third time.
congrats
i cry whenever we pick up the girls from camp every year. not much makes me cry, other than "kids growing up fast"
Congrats!! That's awesome!

Got around to watching the Ted Lasso finale last night. Perfectly delightful fan service, the tie-offs were coherent to the plotlines, etc. etc.
I did enjoy it quite a bit.

this song came out when we were at Cal. my roommate must have played it EVERY DAY multiple times!!

There’s a documentary on Showtime about Rick James called, “Bitchin’: The Sound and Fury of Rick James.” It’s quite good. 17/19 WB

Denver seems to easily beat Miami in game 1 of NBA Finals
watched for a while. seemed like Denver was comfortably in the lead the whole game.
i am sure Miami will find a way to make it interesting ..
Me? I'm not so sure, even the Lakers looked "better" losing close games. Denver is fucking good.
Lakers at least had some size to throw at Jokic. Lakers plus Jimmy Butler could have had a chance? Denver is just playing on another level right now.
Bam is a good player, but so was AD, so was Ayton, so was Gobert. Jokic is just eating these fools’ lunch, is another level
