Tumpak Sewu is a waterfall that is in Java, Indonesia. The waterfall is overshadowed by Semeru, an active volcano - the highest mountain in Java. The Glidik River, which flows down Semeru, is the primary water source for the waterfall.
i am basically a walking art project. they took the metal plates out of collarbone, and i am held together w/ HOT GLUE!!
there are some self-dissolving stitches too, but i dont have to go back for anything other than a quick checkup.
also, the recovery is much better than expected. didnt need any drugs to fall asleep, mostly having a normal day w/ the exception of not being able to workout for a few days.
not the thing you hear east coast people talk about too often. fires in Ontario are causing us to have unusually bad air quality in NYC last few days. somehow NYC is among the worst of affected areas.

The sky has been hazy for about a week due to these wildfires, but today is the first time the Dept of Health has recommended people avoid unnecessary outdoor activity. Of course, the drought across the whole east coast isn't helping the wildfires...

clearly it is bad, but not sure how that compares to when Bay Area AQI was very bad.
As soon as I opened the door to our building to get the paper this morning I could smell the smoke. It's been visibly noticeable for a few days but today you can definitely smell it too. I still went out for a run but consciously took it easy. When crossing the bridge into DC you could barely see the outline of National Cathedral which is less than three miles away. Also noticed a lot more people back to wearing masks as they walk down the street.

Yup, been listening to Live105 on my commute the past couple days. I am surprised at the audio quality of FM, having been listening to SiriusXM almost exclusively for the past few years.
Everyday. Wake up by clock radio alarm (KQED, NPR); clock radio in the bathroom set to KNBR (sports talk). In the car while running errands, and 3x commuting with KQED, KNBR with an occasional flip to classical (KDFC) or jazz (KCSM). And on the drive home after Cal games!
Daily. I have an old clock radio on the table by my bed and listen as I fall asleep and when I wake up in the morning. Also have an old radio in the kitchen so I catch up on the news listening to the local news radio station while making dinner. I'm on the fringe of the flight pattern to National Airport and notice that the kitchen radio reception is affected when a plane comes more directly over.
People know about the Outer Banks to the string of popular beaches down to Myrtle Beach in South Carolina (eg, Wrightsville, Carolina, Emerald, Ocean, Atlantic, Oak Island, Topsail, Kure). But there is a long barrier island with no roads and no access except by infrequent boat. Its isolation means that it is supposedly an unspoiled natural paradise. Frankly, I've never gone.
NY has a lot of national monuments and scenic areas, but no full national parks (i dont think)
the most amazing thing in NY is the Adirondack Park that is protected by the state constitution and an interesting mix of private and public lands. at almost 6 million acres it is greater in size than Yellowstone, Everglades, Glacier, and Grand Canyon National Park combined.
Just because I was in New Jersey this past weekend, Delaware National Recreation Area. It is also in Pennsylvania as the Delaware River forms the boundary between the two states.
Well... near here (Bay Area) I'd say Point Reyes - and especially Limatour Beach. It's always been an awesome place to visit - I attended on my first quarter at Cal (Drake's Beach) - but my roommate grew up in Novato, so I think that was why, but we've been there many, many times.

I used to put mayo in a burger but recently I haven't been doing it.
I do put it on a sandwich before putting it on the panini press. I usually use sourdough bread and then whatever lunch meat and cheese I have, along with lettuce if I have some.
If it’s my BBQ and I’m making the burger and picking the ingredients I’ll eat it with tomatoes but if I’m out to eat, I always order without tomatoes because they often aren’t very good.

i did "retire" from outdoor riding, so. hopefully collarbone will stay intact

That's quite unpleasant. You need an N95 when you go outside. Your lungs will hurt, inside or out.

Watched the first episode of "Cunk on Earth (2023)" - hella of funny I thought - wife liked it, but didn't laugh as loud as I did.
I got about 5 minutes in and gave up. Seen this too many times.
