Donald Trump, recently convicted on 34 felony charges related to falsifying business records, admitted to New York officials that he had not surrendered a gun he possesses in Florida but that was registered in New York, according to CNN. It is a federal crime for someone convicted of a felony to possess a firearm or ammunition.
I have been killing it at work. Worked to 2:30am got up at 6 am, back at it with no rest for the DBD. A quick Bojangles chickens sandwich and a cup of water (because I'm all about the health) and now I'm off to a meeting with my boss to break bad news to him.
World record holder Joey Chestnut may not be competing at Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest this year, but now fans will be able to watch Chestnut face off with his rival Takeru Kobayashi on Netflix on Labor Day.
The two professional competitive eaters will face off in a Netflix special titled “CHESTNUT VS. KOBAYASHI: UNFINISHED BEEF,” which the streaming company advertised as a determination of the ultimate hot dog eating champion.
It’s interesting how some of my biggest, most happy memories involve victories over SEC teams. The Tennessee game (2007), in which Worrell Williams plucked from the turf an Ainge fumble caused by Zack Follett’s hit on the QB and ran it into the end zone for six to start the scoring, is a moment/game that stands out. Another is the.home victory over Ole Miss (2017) in which the W was secured when Cameron Goode had a pick six late in the fourth quarter. I watched that one from Tightwad Hill.
HSB, No 1, and I went to Tennessee in 2006. Ugh..as I type this, Robert Meachem just burned SQT yet again for a long TD. What a trial by fire for a true freshman thrust into a first game due to injury. He did turn out alright though.
I specifically remember at the end of the 2002 Big Game exclaiming "I'm so happy." I was similarly delirious after two other Big Game wins that broke losing streaks: '93 and 2019. But the win that tops them all is the 1982 Big Game win. Obviously I take great joy in watching the Bears beat Furd.
2002 was great. I was sitting with my friend and his family and his dad was part of the Memorial Stadium retrofit fundraising committee. When the S goalpost went down, he somewhat jokingly said, well there goes another 15K...
In terms of biggest sporting event, probably 92 Citrus Bowl, Cal vs Clemson.
I don't think I've been to anything bigger. But, all Big game wins. 2002 was the earliest because Cal couldn't win one when I was in school and I missed the mid 90s ones.
Flew to Pensacola because HSB had an amex card so we used the $199 offer for tickets across the Mississippi and that was the closest we could get. ATL tickets were sold out. Was like a 10 hour drive across the panhandle and down to Orlando. Did go to Epcot on 12/31 so that was pretty cool. Skipped the Magic Kingdom.
Dallas got out to a good early lead. Celtics had a HUGE 3rd quarter and were up by 21 at the start of the 4th. Dallas tried to make it exciting, scored 17 pts very quickly, got to within 3 pts of the lead but were never able to get over the hump.
The Athletics dropped the series finale to the San Diego Padres on Wednesday afternoon by a 5-4 final, getting swept out of town off a walk-off homer on a hot day in Southern California.
The jump from a .100 batting average to .200 is objectively a minor victory, but given how mind-numbing the road has been for the longest tenured Giant, it’s worth celebrating.
The Dodgers dropped the second game of this series as old friend Corey Seager hit a three-run bomb to set up the Rangers’ 3-2 win in his first game as an opponent at Dodger Stadium.
When an offense puts up such an outlandish number on the board as the 15 runs the Ddgers scored Tuesday to open this series, one is likely to ponder how they’ll come back the next day, it’s just human nature. Outside of another majestic home run by Shohei Ohtani, the Dodgers couldn’t muster much offensively for eight innings, but in the ninth, things got interesting, just not quite so to deliver a win to the Dodgers.
At least we're not about to have our athletic department run by a PE firm. I'm so happy that the Big 12 and Cal are fundamentally opposed to each other.
EUGENE, Ore. – California track & field rising sophomore Adrianna Coleman competed in her second straight USA Track & Field (USATF) U20 Championships on Wednesday, going toe-to-toe once again with the nation's best young hammer throwers on a fine afternoon at Hayward Field.

The Golden Bears will host Alabama on Dec. 5 as part of the annual cross-conference matchups, which began last season. Gametimes and broadcast designations will be announced at a later date.
BERKELEY – The California men's basketball team will play at Missouri on Dec. 3 as a part of the 2024 SEC/ACC Challenge. The contest will be played at Mizzou Arena in Columbia, Missouri.

I think the Beatles were a touch prescient with regard to DJT, here -
She's not a girl who misses much
Do do do do do do, oh yeah
She's well-acquainted with the touch of the velvet hand
Like a lizard on a window pane
The man in the crowd with the multicolored mirrors
On his hobnail boots
Lying with his eyes while his hands are busy
Working overtime
A soap impression of his wife which he ate
And donated to the National Trust
I need a fix 'cause I'm going down
Down to the pits that I left uptown
I need a fix 'cause I'm going down
Mother Superior jumped the gun
Mother Superior jumped the gun
Mother Superior jumped the gun
Mother Superior jumped the gun
Mother Superior jumped the gun
Mother Superior jumped the gun
Happiness is a warm gun (bang, bang, shoot, shoot)
Happiness is a warm gun, momma (bang, bang, shoot, shoot)
When I hold you in my arms (ooh, oh, yeah)
And I feel my finger on your trigger (ooh, oh, yeah)
I know nobody can do me no harm (ooh, oh, yeah)
Because
Happiness is a warm gun, yes it is (bang, bang, shoot, shoot)
Happiness is a warm, yes it is, gun (happiness, bang, bang, shoot, shoot)
Well, don't you know that happiness is a warm gun momma?
(Happiness is a warm gun, yeah)
DBD Lunch
Currently eating a Rice Krispie Treat appetizer. Not sure yet what the main will be.
this is a good start. let us know how it goes? maybe some pop tarts for a main course?
Leftover cold pizza. A good day in the lunch arena.
The best leftover food.
Tuna fish sandwich on toast. A side of carrots and smoked almonds, an apple to finish it with.

Happiest at a sporting event
2009 World Baseball Classic Championship Game at Dodger Stadium.
'82 Big Game. Nothing can ever surpass that feeling.
This.
There will be no extra kick.
"There will be no extra point."
That was typed in the official game summary. Yes, I have seen it.
@it was Starkey so are we sure??@
I assume you're being sarcastic.
I'll only say, yes, I am sure. I am also certain that whoever wrote up the summary was well aware of Starkey's observation on the radio broadcast.

we made those homemade signs and had then taped to the car as we drove around FL since we realized everyone else had those cool flags
We saw the Florida fans passing us, going to what should've been our Sugar Bowl, so we made our own.

I don't think it's Knowlton's decision to schedule Missou specifically. It's probably up to whoever is doing the ACC/SEC challenge.
